HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-07-10Regular Meeting Euless City Council July 10, 1962 The regular meeting of the Euless City Council was held on July 10, 1962. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen Billy Byers, Roy Braswell , and H. M. Huffman. by Attorney James A. Cribbs. The meeting was opened with a prayer 1. 187 The minutes of the council meeting of June 26, 1962, were read by the City Secretary and approved by the City Council. 2. A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman Huffman, to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 170, amend- ing Ordinance No. 28, as read by the City Attorney. The vote in favor was unanimous. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Byers , to approve rezoning to "C" Commercial 28.247 acres of land out of the A. M. Downing Survey, Abstract No. 415, under conditions set forth in letter attached. This is the Heenan Smith property. The City Attorney is authorized to prepare an ordinance changing the zoning designation of this property. The vote in favor was unanimous. 4. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell , and seconded by Councilman Huffman, to approve the plat on Oakwood Terrace East, Third Filing, as presented by Mc Douglass of Tri- Cities Development Corporation, and approved by Brown and Davies, City Engineers. The vote in favor was unanimous. 5. A motion was made by Councilman Huffman, and seconded by Councilman Braswell , to adopt Resolution No. 53 which calls a public hearinq for consideration of zoning change of one acre of land out of the John Groves Survey, Abstract No. 599. The public hearing is set for August 14, 1962. The vote i n favor was unanimous. 6. A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman Braswell , authorizing the City Secretary to instal 1 the Social Security program as required by Internal Revenue Service by filing forms SS -15 and SS -15A. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Byers, to accept the bid of Bob Cooke, Inc. on a 1962 Ford patrol car, at $1292.82, trading in a 1961 model Ford.
