Euless City Council
July 24, 1962
The regular meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on July 24, 1962. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson,
Councilmen Billy Owens, Bobby Fuller, H. M. Huffman, Roy Braswell, and
Billy Byers.
The meeting was opened with a prayer by
Mayor Anderson.
1.
The minutes of the regular meeting of July
10, 1962, were read by the City Secretary and approved by the Council.
2.
Mrs. Raymond Sleeman appeared before the
Council and requested permission to operate a nursery school on Mills Drive.
Mrs. Sleeman was advised to apply to the Planning and Zoning Commission to
have her property zoned "B" Local Business.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and
seconded by Councilman Huffman, to approve the letter of agreement between
the developer and the City of Euless, on zoning the Heenan Smith property,
as presented by the City Attorney with "No Signs" clause added. A copy of the
letter attached to these minutes. Four Councilmen voted for this motion and
Councilman Owens opposed. The motion carried.
'The City Attorney presented a letter to
the Secretary of State to be signed by Mayor Anderson and forwarded with a
Certified Copy of the Euless City Charter, as required by law. The
City Secretary was requested to mail these documents on July 25, 1962.

A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell, to ask the Mayor to contact Me Himes and
tell him that if he will dedicate a street through his property the City
will secure curb and gutter, run a water line, and ask the County to pave the
street to County specifications. The vote in favor was unanimous.
6.
The Council agreed that the presidents of
First State Bank and First National Bank of Euless would be called to draw
lots for the two City bank accounts. These accounts to be transferred from
Hurst State Bank to the two local banks at a later date.

7.
The Council agreed to write each member of
the Charter Commission a letter of appreciation. Letters to be composed by
the City Attorney and City Secretary for signature of Mayor and Councilmen.
