THE CITY O.
THE OFFICIAL
PUBLICATION OF EL LESS
Dear Citizens,
This time of
year is always
a busy one for
the city with
so many great
holiday events. We start the
month with a can't miss
musical concert at City Hall on
December 1, with Harp
Essence. This should be a great
event and a perfect way to get
into the holiday spirit.
The following Saturday, we
continue with the Christmas
Parade of Lights. This year's
theme is "A FabEuless
Christmas." The parade is
followed by a variety of other
events throughout the month.
You can find all of the details in
this newsletter. I certainly hope
you will take some time out of
your schedule to enjoy a few of
these events.

We Won the Lifestyle Improvement Challenge!
The Euless Police and Fire Departments recently won the 2016 Lifestyle
Improvement Challenge issued by Baylor Scott & White - Grapevine. First
place automatically comes with bragging rights for our first responders, but
it also provided them with $25,000 to fund healthy initiatives for their
departments.
This challenge encouraged our public safety team to focus on improving
their health and wellness. They met the challenge head on and not only
hosted a free community fun run in May, they planted vegetable gardens
behind each of the fire stations, participated in nutrition presentations, and
sent representatives from Police and Fire to the Cooper Clinic for Fitness
Specialist Training. In addition, each of the individual fitness profiles of
police and fire personnel showed improved fitness and weight loss. The
funding will aid in the facilitation of sustainable programs that promote
health and wellness for police and fire personnel.
A big thank you goes out to Baylor Scott & White Grapevine for issuing the
challenge! If you would like to look back at some of the initiatives that took
place over the year, please visit the 2016 Lifestyle Improvement Challenge -
Euless Police and Fire facebook page.

Betterment Fund
Works Hard for Euless
Each month, citizens have the opportunity to
contribute 50 to the Euless Betterment Fund
through their water bills. Monies from this fund are
used for the city's 1+1=2 Program. This wonderful
program was designed to give away trees at the
Arbor Daze celebration. All residents are
encouraged to plant trees in their yards throughout
the City of Euless. In addition, this contribution
supports the Annual Christmas Parade of Lights as
well as fantastic programming at the Euless Public
Library such as the MasterWorks Music and Arts
Series. Thanks to each of you who help make these
programs possible.
Volunteer of the Year
Euless volunteers are the cream of the crop. They
consistently give their time and energy to make our
community FabEuless. In turn, the City of Euless
honors volunteers each year to celebrate the
dedication and service of these outstanding people.
Help us honor a resident/business for outstanding
volunteer service to make Euless great! Euless
residents are invited to select a Volunteer, Business
and Youth of the Year for outstanding service
during 2016. Please include a 100 -word
