MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE
LIBRARY BOARD
Thursday, December 1, 2016
ITEM NO. 1 CALLED TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Mary Lib Saleh Euless Public Library Board was called to order by
Chairman Snitz at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016, in the Board Room of the Library,
201 N Ector Drive. Those present included Chairman Barney Snitz, Vice Chairman Allan Gibbs,
Board Member Mike McGehee, and Alternate #1 Jim Hamilton. Board Members Marcia Brown,
and Chris McAllister, Secretary Carol Kveck and Alternate #2 Cristen Cirrincione were not
present.

ITEM NO. 2 APPROVED LIBRARY BOARD MINTUES
Chairman Snitz asked for a motion to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held November
3, 2016. The motion was made by Alternate #1 Hamilton and seconded by Board Member
McGehee.
ITEM NO. 3 WELCOMED VISITORS
Chairman Snitz welcomed all visitors present.
ITEM NO. 4 PRESENTED LIBRARY ADMINISTRATOR'S REPORT
Library Administrator Knight informed the Board about Youth Library Assistant Kasey
Fanucchi's resignation and vacancy of that position and gave a brief overview of the upcoming
events for the Library:
The Mayor's Holiday Kickoff will be held on December 1, 2016, 7:00 p.m. in the Council
Chambers at City Hall, 201 N Ector Drive.
The Parade of Lights will be held on December 3, 2016, 6:30 p.m. at Trinity High School, 500 N.
Industrial Boulevard and Board Members are welcome to walk with the Library's float.

Heritage Park Christmas Celebration will be held on December 10, 2016, 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
at Heritage Park, 201 Cullum Drive.
Flutissimo Flute Choir will perform in front of the Blooms of Enlightenment in the Library on
December 12, 2016 at 7:00 p.m.
HEB Reads Winter Reading Challenge will run from December 13, 2016 to January 13, 2016 and
an award is given to those who read over 200 minutes.
A Brief History of Christmas Music performed by Andy Mason will be held on December 15,
2016, 7:00 p.m. at the Library in the Meeting Room.
Bill Steele: Cave Explorer will give a lecture at the Library in the Meeting Room on January 12,
2017 at 7:00 p.m.
ITEM NO. 5 REPORTS
Library Board Chairman
Chairman Snitz commented on the number of events that the Library is running or participating in
and the nice weather that should complement these events.
Library Board Vice-Chairman
Vice Chairman Gibbs inquired about the logistics of the Parade of Lights and when notice would
be given for cancelation of the event, should it occur, and asked all present to attend A Brief
History of Christmas Music performed by Andy Mason with their families.
Vice Chairman Gibbs wished to formally recognize Board Member Marcia Brown's years of
service and dedication. The Board agreed with his comments. Mrs. Knight stated her appreciation
of Board Member Brown's service on the Board, as well.
Library Board Members
Board Member McGehee discussed a book that he is currently reading.
ITEM NO. 6 PUBLIC COMMENTS
LuAnn Portugal of Euless, discussed Hamilton and asked those present to shop for Christmas in
Euless, especially to support small business in the city.
ITEM NO. 7 ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Snitz asked for a motion to adjourn. The motion was made by Board Member McGehee
and seconded by Board Member Gibbs. The meeting was adjourned at 6:50 p.m.
