Euless City Council
September 25, 1962
The regular meeting of the Euless City
Council was held on September 25, 1962. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson,
Councilmen Billy Byers, Roy Braswell, Bobby Fuller, H. M, Huffinan, and
Billy Owens.
1.
The minutes of the previous meeting of
September 11, 1962, were read by the City Secretary and corrected per
"Corrected Copy" and attached to original minutes of that date.

N t Hershel Morgan appeared before the Council
protesting the barber shop at 406 North Main Street being open on Sunday.
The Council authorized the City Attorney to
prepare an ordinance against Sunday operating of businesses.

Nk Nichols appeared before the Council for
the third time protesting the noise from the drive -in theatre on Highway No. 183
West.
The City Attorney advised NE Nichols that
the next time the noise is excessive that he sign a complaint in City Corporation
Court.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 174 annexing
the park area of Midway Park Addition per metes and bounds as presented by the
City Attorney. The vote in favor was unanimous.
A motion was made

Councilman Byers, and
seconded
by Councilman Fuller, to approve the 1962 City
Tax Roll as presented
by Xt W.
E. Smith, City Tax Assessor and Collector,
and approved by the Board
of Equalization. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made
by
Councilman Fuller, and
seconded
by Councilman Huffinan, to adopt Resolution
No.
55, approving the
proposed
City Budget for the fiscal year of October
1,
1962, to October 1, 1963.
The vote
in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 174 annexing
the park area of Midway Park Addition per metes and bounds as presented by the
City Attorney. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Huffman, and
seconded by Councilman Owens, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 176 rezoning
28.247 acres of land out of the A. M. Downing Survey, on petition of Hill and
Smith, Inc., owners of the property. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell,
and seconded by Councilman Owens, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 175
which extends the boundary limits and annexes certain territory lying adjacent
to the City of Euless, providing for the Ordinance to be published and pre-
scribing an effective date, as presented by the City Attorney and City
Engineers, annexing under first reading. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, authorizing the Chief of Police to secure necessary
safety measures for protection and identification for police women. The vote
in favor was unanimous.
