HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-10-09205 Regular Meeting Euless City Council October 9, 1962 The regular meeting of the Euless City Council was held on October 9, 1962. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen Roy Braswell, Billy Owens, Billy Byers, H. M. Huffinan, and Bobby Fuller. Oglesby, Mthodi st Mni ster . The meeting was opened with a prayer by Rev. 1. The corrected minutes of the September 11, 1962, meeting and the minutes of the regular meeting of September 25, 1962, and the special meeting of October 6, 1962, were read by the City Secretary and approved by-the Council. a A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and seconded by Councilman Braswell, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 177, which prohibits the retail sale of certain goods, wares, items, and services on Sunday, as presented by the City Attorney. The vote in favor was unanimous. 3. A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Byers, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 178, which abandons a certain aerial easement across the north four feet of Lot 3, Block 3, Euless Gardens. The vote in favor was unanimous. 4. A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and seconded by Councilman Huffman, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 179, which annexes additional property and is cumulative of Ordinance Nos. 36, 38, and 68, as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorneys. The vote i n favor was unanimous. This was the first reading of the ordinance. 5. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Byers, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 180, which annexes additional territory as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorneys, under first reading. The vote in favor was unanimous. W A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 181, which annexes additional territory as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorney, under first reading. A motion was made by Councilman Braswell, and seconded by Councilman Fuller, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 182, which annexes additional territory as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorney, under first reading. The vote in favor was unanimous. 8. A motion was made by Councilman Huffman, and seconded by Councilman Owens, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 183, which annexes additional territory as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorney, under first reading. The vote in favor was unanimous. a A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and seconded by Councilman Byers, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 184, which annexes additional territory as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorney, under first reading. The vote in favor was unanimous. 10. A motion was made by Councilman Huffinan, and seconded by Councilman Braswell, approving and adopting Ordinance No. 185, which annexes additional territory as presented by the City Engineers and City Attorney, under first reading. The vote in favor was unanimous. 11. The Council agreed to send G, D. McAdoo, Jr. to Weatherford, Texas, on October 19, 1962, to attend a Garbage Disposal School. Attest: / s / G. D. McAdoo, J r.
