Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
March 12, 1963
The regular meeting of the Euless City Council
was held on March 12, 1963. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen
Billy Owens, H. M, Huffman, Roy Braswell, Billy Byers, and Bobby Fuller.
Visitors i -n attendance were Boyd Ausley,
Buddy Quijesby, Loren Roberts, Jack E. Rpwisch, Fred E. Tucker, Jr., F. E.
Tucker, Nk & Mrs. Charles P. Wood, J. T. Brandt, J. C. Hendricks, E. L. Baker,
N>C & Mrs. Lotspeich, and A. T. Sellers.
The invocation was given by Dr. Roy F. Braswell.
The minutes of the previous meeting of February
26, 1963, were approved by the Council.
1.
A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell, to approve the building permit requested by
Nk Hendrix for a commercial building in Euless Industrial Park, fifteen feet
(15') from the R.O.W. on Pipeline Road. The vote in favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Byers, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell , to grant Nk Robert, Mobil Oil Company, a
permit as requested for a two stall garage at Garland's Mobil Service Station at
Highway 183 and Martha Street. The vote in favor was unanimous.

Nk Charles P. Wood appeared requesting
permission to change the drainage area across the commercial property at Highway
183 and Simmons Drive, for apartments. The Council advised Nt Woods that the
City Engineer would make a study and report at the next council meeting.

The City Council authorized the Building Inspec-
tor, City Manager, and City Attorney to prepare an amendment to the Building and
Zoning Ordinances to provide for a minimum square footage per unit in apartment
buildings and a fire retarder wall in apartment buildings.
5.
Nk Fred C. Tucker, Jr., appeared before the
Council regarding property to be used for City Hall and expanded facilities.
This was a preliminary presentation. A committee will study the proposal and
advise at a later date.
6.
Nk Louis Lotspeich, Irving Cab Compan
appeared regarding operating a taxi -cab company in the City of Euless. lne
Council advised that Brown Limousine is now li ensed nerater. The Council
advised NIn Lotspeich he would be advised on Tuture meeting d8tes.

The Council directed the City Manager to
advertise for bids on a one -half tone pickup, eight cylinder.

A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
Byers, that the Council go m record stating that on any

A motion was made by Councilman Braswell to
approve and adopt Ordinance No. 191 annexing that certain parcel of property under
second reading. The motion died for lack of a second. The motion was withdrawn.
11.
A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Fuller, to proceed to take legal action to clarify
validity and legal effect of Annexation Ordinance No. 191 and if necessary
file a law suit to resolve this matter. Four Councilmen, Braswell, Byers,
Fuller, and Owens voted in favor of this motion. Councilman Huffman abstained.
The motion carried.

The Council agreed t o meet a t 8: 00 p. m ..
