Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
April 9, 1963
The regular meeting of the Euless City Council
was held on April 9, 1963. Present were Mayor J. S. Anderson, Councilmen Billy
Owens, Roy Braswell, Bobby Fuller, Billy Byers, and H. M. Huffman.
The invocation was given by Rev. Roy Engelhardt,
Presbyterian minister.
The minutes of the previous meeting of March
26, 1963, were approved by the Council.

Mayor Anderson authorized City Attorney James
A. Cribbs to administer the Oath of Office to Mr. W. G. Fuller, as Mayor, and Nk
Billy F. Owens and N1c Billy L. Byers. as Councilmen for a period of two (2)
years, or until their successors are duly qualified, as per Resolution Flo. 59,
showing canvass of the results of the City Election held on April 2, 1963.

A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, to retain as Mayor Pro -tem Bobby R. Fuller. The
vote in favor was unanimous.
4.
Mayor Fuller recognized past Mayors of the City
of Euless and presented to each of them a plaque as a token of the City's appreci-
ation for their service. Past Mayors and dates of service are as follows:
Mr. Joe Umphress 1953 -1955
Nk Jimmy Payton 1955 -1957
Nh: Ernest Milli can , Jr. 1957 -1961
Nk J. S. Anderson 1961 -1963

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, approving the final plat of Green Hills Park,
Second Filing. The vote in favor was unanimous.
A motion
was made by
Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell,
authorizing
the City Manager, the Mayor, or any
interested Councilman the power
to visit Nt
Greer with
the Texas Highway Depart-
ment in Austin and seek any pertinent
facts
concerning
the proposed routing of
Spur Highway 350 through Euless
and report back to the
Council. The vote in
favor was unanimous.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, approving the final plat of Green Hills Park,

The Council tabulated the bids on a 1963
one -half ton pickup truck. Bids submitted were as follows, with trade -in:
Bob Cooke Ford, Arlington $1 ,594.83
Stoltz Motors Ford, Grand Prairie 1,643.12
Ken Grantham Ford, Irving 1,656.28
Hudi burg Chevrolet, Grapevine 1,774.37
A motion was made by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Braswell, approving the letting of the contract to the
lowest bidder, Bob Cooke, Inc., of Arlington, Texas, for the purchase of a
1963 one -half ton pickup truck, per specifications, at a price of $1,594.83,
with trade -in. The vote in favor was unanimous.

The Council agreed to forward the request made
by Mr. Char] es'Davenport, Richardson, Texas, acting as Tax Advisor to Mr. Jim
Puckett, to be reviewed and settled by the City Attorney and the City Manager.
The request concerned a proposal to depreciate initial payment of Carter Drive
in Westwood Village.

Mayor Fuller gave each member of the Council a
folder containing a suggested Council procedure, a I i st of appointments to be
made at the next meeting, a list of present appointees, and a list of possible
appointees, which he asked each member to add to from their own knowledge.

A motion was made by Councilman Fuller, and
seconded by Councilman Owens, that the meeting be adjourned at 8:56 p.m.
The vote in favor was unanimous.
