Regular Meeting
Euless City Council
May 14, 1963
The regular meeting of the Euless City Council
was held on W 14, 1963. Present were Mayor Pro -tem Bobby Fuller, Councilmen
Billy Byers, Roy Braswell , and Billy Owens.
The invocation was given by Rev. E. E.
Pendergrass, Assembly of God Minister.
The minutes of the previous meeting of April
23, 1963, were read. Councilman Owens asked that Item No. 3 be corrected to
show that after nominations were made, the Mayor asked for a motion. The
minutes were approved subject to this correction.

A motion was mace by Councilman Owens, and
seconded by Councilman Byers, to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 195, Second
Reading, which changes the zoning designation from residential to commercial
on a forty acre tract of land, located at the southwest corner of the inter-
section of M Highway 157 and Huffman Drive, out of the T. A. Jasper Survey,
Abstract No. 861, Euless, Tarrant County, Texas. Mayor Pro -tem Fuller called
for a discussion.
Councilman Braswell asked the City Attorney
if the Mayor Pro -tem had the right to vote.
The City Attorney advised that the Mayor Pro -
tem was a voting member of the Council.
Mayor Pro -tern Fuller called for further
discussion. There being no further discussion, Mayor Pro -tem Fuller called
for a vote, those in favor of the motion. Councilmen Byers, Owens, and Fuller
voted i n favor of the motion. Mayor Pro -tem Fuller called for a vote of those
against the motion. Councilman Braswell rose and asked the City Attorney if
the meeting could proceed without a quorum. fb stated the Mayor and Councilman
Huffman were against this rezoning request, and that he, Councilman Braswell,
did not know that it would be brought up at this meeting.
The City Attorney advised that a quorum was
present at the time the vote was initiated and a valid vote was had on the
motion.
Councilman Braswell left the meeting.
Mayor Pro -tern Fuller declared the motion carried
and Ordinance No. 195 was adopted on second reading.
Mayor Pro -tem Fuller declared that due to the
lack of a quorum, the meeting was adjourned.
