A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS, DESIGNATING THE POLICE CHIEF AS THE AUTHORIZED
OFFICIAL TO APPLY FOR, ACCEPT, REJECT, OR ALTER THE FISCAL
YEAR 2017 GRANT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE GOVERNOR, TEXAS,
CRIMINAL JUSTICE DIVISION, TO FUND THE PURCHASE AND
IMPLEMENTATION OF A BODY WORN CAMERAS PROJECT FOR THE
CITY OF EULESS POLICE DEPARTMENT.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council finds it in the best interest of the citizens
of the City of Euless that the Body Worn Cameras Project be funded for Fiscal Year 2017;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council agrees to provide applicable matching
funds, met through cash or in-kind contributions, equal to 25 percent of the Criminal
Justice Division award; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council agrees that in the event of loss or
misuse of the Criminal Justice Division funds, the City of Euless City Council assures that
the funds will be returned to the Criminal Justice Division in full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council designates Police Chief Michael Brown
as the grantee's authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for,
accept, reject, alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THAT THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council authorizes Police Chief Michael Brown to submit an application to
apply for, accept, reject, or alter, to the Texas Office of the Governor - Criminal Justice
Division in accordance with the terms and conditions thereof for a Body Worn Cameras
Grant (Grant Number 3088101) and accept funds in the amount of $30,381.98 for the
Body Worn Cameras Project.
SECTION 2.
This resolution shall become effective immediately upon its passage.
PASSED AND APPROVED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council of the
City of Euless, Texas, on March 28, 2017 by a vote of 7 ayes, o nays, and n
abstentions.
