AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE OFFICIAL BUDGET OF THE CITY
OF EULESS FOR THE FISCAL YEAR OF ENDING SEPTEMBER 30,
1988, TO EFFECT A TRANSFER FROM THE CITY'S GENERAL
CONTINGENCY FUND TO THE AUTHORIZED LINE ITEM FOR
PAYMENT OF SALARIES WITHIN FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE
CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, desires to provide
certain salary increases for its Fire and Police Department personnel; and
WHEREAS, however, monies budgeted for Fire Department salaries are insuffi-
cient to allow for such proposed salary increases for Fire Department person-
nel; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas, desires to amend its
1987-1988' fiscal year budget for the purpose of transferring certain funds
from the city's General Contingency Fund to the Fire Department's line item
for salaries so as to provide funds for such proposed salary increases.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS,
TEXAS:
SECTION I
That the line item account number 01 -22 -00 -0101 providing for salaries of the
Fire Department contained in the budget of the City of Euless, Texas, for the
1987 -1988 fiscal year be, and the same is increased by the sum of Twenty -two
Thousand and No /100 Dollars ($22,000.00).
SECTION II
That monies to effect such increase shall be transferred by the City Manager
of the City of Euless, Texas, from fund number 19, same being the City of
Euless' General Contingency Fund. That such increased appropriation for
salaries within the Fire Department shall be allocated and expended for such
purpose and the Euless City Manager is hereby directed to appropriate and
expend such funds accordingly.
SECTION III
Emergency Clause. By the affirmative vote of four or more of its members, the
City Council declares that this is an ordinance for the immediate preservation
of the public peace, property, health, and safety, and is an emergency measure
within the meaning of Article II, Section 11 of the City Charter; and the
requirement that it be read at two meetings, as specified in Section 11, is
hereby dispensed with.
SECTION IV
Effective Date. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage and publication as provided by the Euless City Charter and
the laws of the State of Texas.
PRESENTED AND GIVEN FIRST AND FINAL READING at a regular meeting of the Euless
City Council on the 10th day of May 1988; by a vote of 4 ayes, 0 nays, and 0
abstentions.
