MEETING OF APRIL 6, 2017

The Teen Court Advisory Board of the cities of Hurst, Euless and Bedford, Texas met at 6:00
p.m. at Bedford City Hall on the 6th day of April 2017,with the following members present:
HURST: Lorrie Dickerson, Jen Tucker, Aaron Switzer
EULESS: Robin Edwards, Renu Sloan
BEDFORD: Kathleen Toms, Janet Key

CALL TO ORDER
Chairperson Kathleen Toms called the meeting to order at 6:02 p.m. with a quorum of seven Board
Members present.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
1. Consider approval of the following Teen Court Advisory Board minutes:
a) March 2, 2017 Regular Meeting
b) March 2, 2017 Gala Committee Meeting
Lorrie Dickerson made a motion to approve the March 2, 2017 regular minutes and the March
2, 2017 Gala Committee minutes and Renu Sloan seconded the motion and all were in favor.
2. Introductions
No new introductions at this meeting.
OLD BUSINESS
4. Discuss and possibly take action on items as they relate to the 2017 annual Teen
Court Gala.
Coordinator Mindy Eichorst mentioned that everything is just about ready for the Teen Court
Scholarship Gala. She mentioned a final head count needs to be turned into the Hurst
Conference Center on Thursday, April 20, 2017, a week before the event. The speaker, Mr.
Clark is ready to speak and will speak no longer than 20 minutes. Janet Key showed everyone
the Texas quilt that she made. The Texas quilt and a signed Duck Dynasty duck call and
signed picture of Si Robertson were designated as live auction items. Chairperson Kathleen
Toms asked if Judge Murphy might be able to assist with the live auction as the auctioneer. Ms.
Eichorst mentioned she would check with Judge Murphy and see if he was willing to be the live
auctioneer.
Advisory Board Members are requested to'be there around 5:30 p.m. to assist with silent
auction and with last minutes details of the Gala. The silent auction will begin at 6:00 p.m. and
will be open until approximately 8:45 p.m. At the end of the silent auction, the Advisory Board
Members need to be standing near the tables so when the auction is over, they can pick up the
bid sheets.
A few of the Advisory Board Members have decided to meet on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at
2:00 p.m. at Bedford City Hall in the downstairs conference room to put together silent auction
baskets and fill out the bid sheets.
NEW BUSINESS
5. Discuss and possibly take action on a date for the next Teen Court Advisory Board
Meeting.
The next advisory board meeting will be on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at Bedford City Hall.
Robin Edwards made a motion and Janet Key seconded the motion and all were in favor.
REPORTS
Teen Court Coordinator Mindy Eichorst went over the Coordinator's Report and Finance Report for the
month of March 2017.
ADJOURNMENT
Janet Key entered a motion for the meeting to be adjourned. Renu Sloan seconded the motion and all ;
voted in favor. The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m. �I
