The special called meeting of the Euless 0 Also present w e r e City Manager W. F, Condron, Jr,, City Secretary Vada Ferris, and'City Attorney J a m e s Cribbs, C _ . l I. INTERVIEWS: ENGINEERING FIRMS 1.. 2. 'Reaves; Gregory and Knowlton, Consulting Engineers Rady and Associates, Consulting Engineers Mayor Fuller introduced Messrs. Joe Rady and Bob King, M r , Rady explained that h i s f i r m was capable of doing a l l the work necessary i n a project of t h i s type (securing the w a t e r and s e w e r facilities)... f i e l d work, negotations, reports, etc, .. , he stated that his fee would be $75.00 per day plus 2%% of the t o t a l figure, He further commented that he had worked with M r . U e l Stephens on numerous projects; however, the planriing, negotations with M r . Wisenbaker, f i e l d work, etc. mould be handled by his f i r m exclusively, without the services of 1 M r , Stephens, I (Due t o a previous engagement, D r , B r a s w e l l left at 7:55 P.M.). Mayor Fuller commented that t h i s meeting was merely for the purpose of interviewing engineers -that the council w a s not prepared to m a k e a decision at t h i s t i m e , He further advised the council that he and Councilman B r a s w e l l had m e t with Mayor Jernigan and City Clerk Walter Fitch of Bedford on Tuesday, October 29, 1963, and explained to them that the Euless City Council was preparing for the purchase of the w a t e r and s e w e r works from M r , Royce Wisenbaker,,. and, since Bedford also has the services of M r . Wisenbaker, the Euless City Council considered it very necessary that the people of Bedford be aware of the situation, Mayor Fuller stated that he informed Mayor Jernigan and City Clerk Walter Fitch that he would keep i n touch with them and, adi&se them of any meetings pertaining t o t h i s project that w e r e to be held in the future. (The City Clerk was notified of t h i s called council meeting and invited to attend with o f f i c i a l s from Bedford, however, they w e r e not i n attendance). Mayor Fuller, City Manager Condron, and members of the Council thanked M r . Rady and his associate f o r t h e i r presentation, Messrs, Gregory, Knowlton and R a t l i f f w e r e introduced to members of the council and welcomed to the meeting. M r , Gregory presented a brochure t o those present which outlined work that had been done by their f i r m , and, gave a resume of the persons employed I ' - * I6 by the f i r m and the services theyeperform. his f i r m had, in most instances, performed a l l services on a project of this nature, agent or bonding f i r m should be engaged at the s a m e t i m e an engineer is employed. In answer to a question, M r , Gregory s t a t e d t h a t he had not worked d i r e c t l y with M r , Stephens, however, that he w a s acquainted with M r . Stephens' work,,, that M r . Stephens was outstanding for the type s e rvi c e s he perf-or,m.ed . M r , Gregory explained that He further stated that.he considered that a f i s c a l M r , Gregory advised that, roughly, he had figured that, if his f i r m is employed by the Euless City Council, his fee would be $18,000.00,,. that he had based t h i s figure on the f a c t that he considered that the-water and s e w e r works might'be worth three million dollars,,, and, that $18,000.00 is .006% of three million, He further commented that if M r . Stephens is employed, the fee for Mx, Stephens' work would be deducted from the $18,000000. Discussion followedjc questions asked by members of the council3 and M r .
