Home My WebLink About17-1507 06-27-2017 RESOLUTION NO. 17-1507 A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING AWARD OF A CONTRACT FOR THE 42nd YEAR COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG) PROJECT NO. B-16-UC-48-0001-22-30-B TO RELIABLE PAVING, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF $65,840.00 FOR THE REPLACEMENT OF SIDEWALK ACCESSIBILITY RAMPS IN EULESS, TEXAS. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Euless, Texas does hereby recommend the award of a contract for the 42nd Year CDBG Project No. B-16-UC-48-0001-22-30-B to Reliable Paving, Inc. in the amount of $65,840.00 for the replacement of sidewalk accessibility ramps in Euless, Texas; and WHEREAS, the 42nd Year CDBG Project No. B-16-UC-48-0001-22-30-B consists of the replacement of 11 sidewalk accessibility ramps along Fuller-Wiser Road; and WHEREAS, the construction funds available through Tarrant County for this project are $82,243.00; and WHEREAS, Staff has reviewed the bid tabulation and based on supporting documentation from Teague Nall and Perkins, Inc. (Exhibit A), recommends that Tarrant County award the contract to the low bidder, Reliable Paving, Inc. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT: SECTION 1. The City of Euless, Texas City Council recommends award of a contract to Reliable Paving, Inc., Arlington, Texas for the replacement of 11 sidewalk accessibility ramps along Fuller-Wiser Road in the amount of$65,840.00 of which Tarrant County Community Development will pay the total amount of$65,840.00. SECTION 2. This Resolution shall take effect immediately from and after its passage in accordance with the Charter of the City of Euless and upon publication, and it is accordingly so resolved. The bid opening for the 42nd Year CDBG Fuller—Wiser Road Accessibility Ramps project was held at the offices of Tarrant County Community Development on Wednesday,April 26,2017. The subject project involves construction of sidewalk ramps along Fuller—Wiser Road Three formal bids were received as shown in the attached bid tabulation. Based on experience with the low bidder on projects of similar scope and size,we recommend that the City of Euless recommend award of the contract for construction of the Fuller — Wiser Road Accessibility Ramps project to Reliable Paving for the Total Base Bid Amount of$65,840 00 The 42nd Year CDBG construction funds amount to$82,243.00 for construction of this project. Since the available funding is more than the bid amount,no financial participation is required of the city.
