CALL TO ORDER

I\ called meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order at 5 ;30
P.M., on Monday, October 4. 1982, in the Council Chambers of the Euless Municipal
Building, by Mayor Harold D. Samuels, Counci.lmennbers in attendance were Mayor Pro
Teri) Wil lie Mae and Councilmen Robert Pippin, Glenn Walker, Bob Eden,
and Ron Sternfels.

Guests included Tax Assessor-Collector Bill Brown, Mid-- Cities Daily; News

Fitzhugh..
ITEM I; CONSIDERATION OF ADOPTI NG A TAX RATE. -
Mayor Samuels explained that the purpose of the meeting was to consider
and adopt a tax rate for the City of Euless.
Mr, Richard Fitzhugh, 1503 Cedar Ridge Terrace, Elutes, asked for
clarification as to why the City Council was considering the $0.70 per $100 valuation tax
rate rather than a lower rate. Mayor Samuels explained the reasoning behind the City
Council's thinking, Mr. Fitzhugh stated that he understood and thanked the City Council
for Their tine,
Mr. Walker moved to adopt an ordinance setting the 1982 ad valorem tax
rate of $0.70 per $100 of valuation assessed by the approved tax rolls, continuing the
over sixty-five exemption, and granting a twenty percent residential homestead
exemption.
