J\ called meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order at 7 :30 P.M., Saturday, May 21, 1983, in the Council Chambers of the Euless (Municipal Building, by Mayor Harrold D. SarnueIs. Councilrnernhers in attendance were Councilmen Robert Pippin, Glenn Walker, and Ron Sternfeis. Mayor Pro Tem Willie Mae McCormick and Councilman Bob Eden were absent. Staff Members Present W. M. Sustaire, City Manager Kay Rainey, City Secretary Visitors Shirley Long Howard Wilkinson CANVASS OF ELECTION RESULTS Mayor Samuels advised that the purpose of this called 'meeting was to canvass the election results of the special bond election held this date. He recognized Election judge Howard Wilkinson to report the results. Howard Wilkinson reported that there were 300 absentee ballots printed and ten absentee ballots were cast. Total votes cast for this election was 331. The votes were cast as follows. Proposition No. 1 for the issuance of $3,500,000 General Obligation Bonds for Street Improvements received 276 votes for and 54 votes "against," with 330 votes cast; Proposition No 2 for the issuance of 51,500,000 General Obligation Bonds for Storm Drainage Facilities received 260 votes `tor" and 63 votes "against" with 323 total votes Cast. Mayor Samuels thanked Mr. Wilkinson and the Election Clerks for their time and efforts in conducting the election. 1983-096 Euless City Council Called Meeting - May 21, 1983 - Page Two CONSIDERATION OF RESOLUTION NO, 83-547 Mr. Walker moved to approve Resolution No, 83-547, accepting and approving the election results as presented by Election Judge Howard Wilkinson. Mr. Sternfels seconded the motion. Ayes: Messrs. Walker, Sternfels, Pippin Nays: None Ma v or Samuels declared the motion carried.
