Euless City Council

Mayor W. G. Fuller called the meeting
to order at 6;50 P. M. with the following councilmen present: Messrs. Don
Warren, Billy Byers and Frank Douglass. Absent were Councilmen Bobby
Fuller and Billy Owens.
Also present were City Manager Lee
Cowell, City Attorney James Cribbs and City Secretary Vada Ferris.
VISITORS
Present were Messrs. Paul Gregory and
B i 1 1 Ratliff, representing Reaves, Gregory and Knowlton, Consulting
Engineers; and Messrs. J. A. Horton, Henry Uselton, LaVern Lee, and
Edward Smith, memberz of the Planning and Zoning Commission of the City
of Euless.
I.
Mayor Fuller informed all present
that this meeting had been called for the purpose of discussing several
policies which the City Engineers consider vital to their work and desire
to have the opinion of the council concerning these policies. Mr. Gregory
presented several policies concerning the city's position in regard to
street improvements and participation in drainage with developers.. ..and,
extensions of streets and drainage ditches across undeveloped paoperties.
The suggested policies of the engineers are policies similar to those
adopted by the City of Fort Worth, which Mr. Gregory explained in detail.
Mr. Gregory further stated that these policies might be good policies in
the five year capital improvement program for the City of Euless. After
considerable discussion, Councilman Douglass made the motion that Reaves ,
Gregory and Knowlton, Consulting Engineers, be allowed to proceed with
the drainage and street proposals as presented. Councilman Byers seconded
the motion which carried unanimously . Mr?1nCrLgory7- nformedottie',council
that he would have a preliminary report for presentation to the council
as soon as possible.

Mayor Fuller requested that the City
Manager, on behalf of the council, write a letter of appreciation to
Reaves, Gregory and Knowlton, Consulting Engineers, for the City O f f i c i a l
pins which had been presented to each council member and the Mayor.
III .
Mr . Edward Smith , member of the
Planning and Zoning Commission asked if the Planning and Zoning Commission
could assume that street developers could be assessed up to 100% of the
drainage up to thirty - six (36) inch lines. Mayor Fuller stated that this
would not be in effect until it became a policy of the City of Euless.
IV .
The Meeting adjourned at 8:05 P. M.
by general consent of the members.
