HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-1336 02-09-2010 RESOLUTION NO. 10-1336 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF EULESS, TEXAS, ADOPTING GENERAL GUIDELINES AND CRITERIA FOR CONSIDERATION OF ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INCENTIVES IN THE CITY OF EULESS. WHEREAS, The Euless City Council is committed to the promotion and retention of quality development in all parts of the city and to an ongoing improvement in the quality of life for its citizens; and WHEREAS, economic development incentives are offered by the City of Euless for the purpose of securing the future economic viability of the community through the creation and retention of jobs, the attraction of new investment through the location of new industry, and the expansion and modernization of existing businesses; and WHEREAS, the Euless City Council adopted Resolution No. 10-1331 on January 12, 2010, which renewed adoption of its Tax Abatement Guidelines and Criteria, consistent with the State Legislatures reauthorization of the Property Redevelopment and Tax Abatement Act within Chapter 312 of the Texas Tax Code; and WHEREAS, the Euless City Council desires, without obligation, to consider other economic development incentives that the Euless City Council would consider as part of a comprehensive economic development strategy. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Euless City Council seek to enhance its economic development efforts to attract and retain high quality development and jobs by establishing the following "Guidelines and Criteria", contained in Attachment "A", for consideration of economic development incentives. ADOPTED, at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on the 9th day of February 2010, by a vote of o ayes, o nays, and o abstentions.
