EULESS CITY COUNCIL
ON
DECEMBER 29, 1981
CALL TO ORDER
A specially called meeting of the Euless City Council was
called to order at 6:40 P.M. , December 29, 1981 , in the Council
Chambers of the Euless Municipal Building , by Mayor Harold D. Samuels .
Council members present were Mayor Pro Tem Willie Mae McCormick, and
Councilmen Robert Pippin, Bob Eden, and Ron Sternfels . Councilman
Glenn Walker was absent.
Staff Members Present
W. M. Sustaire, City Manager Bob McFarland, City Attorney
tam. James Knight, City Engineer Kay Rainey, City Secretary
Kent Flynn, Director of Planning and Development
Lynn Shackelford, Superintendent of Streets and Utilities
Visitors Present

ITEM I : CONSIDER DRAINAGE IMPROVEMENTS AND ACQUISITION OF RIGHTS-OF-WAY
THEREFOR, TO LITTLE BEAR CREEK
Mayor Samuels explained that the purpose of the meeting was
to consider one item only; that being the drainage problems with Little
Bear Creek, and the flood control related to it.
Mr. Bill Flowers and Mr. Don Canton , with the engineering firm
of Knowlton-English-Flowers , 600 First State Bank Building, Bedford,
Texas , presented a pre-preliminary plan for flood control of this area.
Persons in attendance conducted a full discussion of the
flood control and drainage problems with Little Bear Creek, whereupon
a motion was made by Mrs. McCormick.

Mrs . McCormick moved that due to the recent flooding of homes
within the Little Bear Creek area of Euless , the City Manager be authorized
to seek means of alleviating the flood conditions . Mr. Eden seconded the
motion, and the vote was as follows :
Ayes : Mrs . McCormick, and Messrs . Eden,
Pippin, and Sternfels
Nays : None
Mayor Samuels declared the motion carried.
ADJOURNMENT
There being no further business before the City Council , the
meeting was adjourned at 8:10 P.M.
