HomeMy WebLinkAbout1993-03-29 (Worksession) CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION The members of the Euless City Council held a worksession on Monday, March 29, 1993, to discuss the water and sewer infrastructure in the City and the half cent sales tax which was approved by the citizens in the January 16, 1993 election. The meeting convened at 4:20 p.m. in the downstairs conference room of Building A of the Euless Municipal Complex, 201 North Ector Drive. Those attending included: Mayor Pro Tem Mary Lib Saleh Councilman Frank Douglass Councilman Todd Smith Councilman Bobby Baker Councilman Peter Staks Councilman Henry Boatright City Manager Tom Hart Assistant City Manager Kay Godbey City Secretary Susan Crim Administrative Assistant Modesto Mundo Director of Development and Operations Joe Hennig Director of Public Works Randy Byers City Engineer Paul Kruckemeyer Director of Fiscal and Human Resources Debra Forte' Director of Economic Development/Administrative Services Tom Cox Director of Community Services Rick Herold Foreman Paul Wrzesinski Foreman Terry McGahey Foreman Terry Highfill Director of Public Works Randy Byers presented the 1992 Water Audit and explained ways for the City to save money, primarily through a new water metering system. He also illustrated how the City loses thousands of dollars each year through unnecessary sewage treatment costs because of infiltration and inflow. Mr. Byers gave an update on the Water and Sewer Capital Improvement Programs. City Manager Tom Hart updated the Council Members on the plans for the half cent sales tax monies that the City will begin to receive in September, 1993. Discussion was held on how the revenue should be spent for park improvements, library improvements and economic development.
