EULESS CITY COUNCIL JANUARY 4, 1994 WORKSESSION MINUTES CALL TO ORDER Mayor Mary Lib Saleh called the worksession to order at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 1994, at Naples Restaurant, 300 North Main Street, Euless, Texas. Those present included: Mayor Mary Lib Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Baker, Council Members Frank Douglass, Todd Smith, Charles Miller, Glenn Walker and Henry Boatright; City Manager Tom Hart, Assistant City Manager Joe Hennig, City Secretary Susan Crim, City Engineer Paul Kruckemeyer, Director of Public Works and Development Randy Byers, Director of Economic Development and Administrative Services Tom Cox, Director of Community Services Rich Herold, Parks Planning and Operation Manager Bo Bass, Library Betty Yarbrough, City Planner Rod Tyler, Planning and Zoning Commission Member Billy Owens, Architect Don Beck and Library Consultant, Lee Brawner. Assistant City Manager Joe Hennig presented the draft of the Unified Development Control Document (UDC) on which the Planning and Zoning Commission has been working the past year and a half. City Planner Rod ■11.•' Tyler outlined current procedures in the development process and explained some of the ways they would be changed by the new UDC. Mr. Hennig distributed an outline of items of special interest contained in the UDC that would assist Council Members in their review of the document. After dinner Library Consultant Lee Brawner distributed his report of his study of the last six months and reviewed it with the Council Members and described the facility proposed in the report. Architect Don Beck gave a cost estimate for the proposed facility and explained what was included in the estimate. Assistant City Manager Joe Hennig requested the consultants return at a later date with (1) pricing on building the same size building as proposed tonight but with a portion of it in shell space and (2) a price comparison of building a one story and a two story library facility.
