YORKSESSION MINUTES
FEBRUARY 17, 1994
Mayor Mary Lib Saleh called the worksession to order at 4:10 p.m. in the
Administration Building Conference Room of the Municipal Complex, 201
North Ector Drive, Euless, Texas. Persons present included Mayor Mary
Lib Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Baker, Council Members Frank Douglass,
Todd Smith, Charlie Miller, Glenn Walker and Henry Boatright, Assistant
City Manager Joe Hennig, City Secretary Susan Crim, Assistant to the City
Manager Modesto Mundo, Special Projects Coordinator K. B. Fuller, GIS
Manager David Allen, City Planner Rod Tyler, Principal Engineer Andrea
Baxter, Data Processing Manager Mike Harris, Police Chief Gary McKamie,
Fire Chief Lee Koontz, Director of Economic Development and
Administrative Services Tom Cox, Director of Planning and Development
Randy Byers, City Engineer Paul Kruckemeyer, and Planning and Zoning
Members Billy Owens, Ron Young, George Zahn, Nancy Bright, Carl Tyson and
Robert McMillan and Chip Collins of the Accord Group.
Chip Collins stated the objectives of the study conducted by the Accord
Group for the management of information systems for the City of Euless.
He discussed alternatives and provided the City Council with information
to assist them in developing a long range Management Information System
Plan.
Mr. Collins reviewed the procedures he had followed the last six months
interviewing key staff in the City to learn the needs and tasks to be
performed in each department. He previewed the computer hardware and
software the City currently has and explained how each of the departments
have development their computer facilities over the past years. He
outlined the technology trends in local government information systems
and presented alternatives the City will have in updating their current
systems. He included the listing of the factors of a successful
information system.
After dinner Randy Byers and Rod Tyler gave an overview of the Unified
Development Code that was recently completed. They presented an outline
showing the land development steps that will be approved by the Planning
and Zoning Commission and those that will be brought before the City
Council . They reviewed the landscaping provisions, the handicap parking
allocations, and off-street parking regulations.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:40 p.m.
