CITY COUNCIL WORKSESSION
Monday, August 8, 1994
The members of the Euless City Council held a worksession on Monday, August 8, 1994,
in the Conference Room of Building A of the Municipal Complex, 201 North Ector Drive,
Euless, to discuss the proposed library facility to be located in the municipal complex.
The meeting was called to order at 5:40 p.m. and those present included Mayor Mary Lib
Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Baker, Council Member Frank Douglass, Council Member
Todd Smith, Council Member Charlie Miller, Council Member Glenn Walker, and Council
Member Henry Boatright.
Staff members present included Assistant City Manager Joe Hennig, City Secretary
Susan Crim, Director of Community Services Rick Herold and Director of Administrative
Services and Economic Development Tom Cox.
Denelle Wrightson, architect with Phillips Swager Associates, was also present.
Ms. Wrightson presented a proposed timeline for the design and construction of the
library and requested that a building committee be established to meet regularly and to
bring information back to the Council as a group. It was decided that ground breaking
would be held in conjunction with Arbor Daze 1995, with completion of the building
approximately one year later.
Discussion was held regarding the desired total size of the proposed library.
Consideration was given to a 40,000 square foot building with 10,000 square feet being
left as a shell for future build-out. Additional discussion included possible floor plans,
types of roof design and overall style of building.
The meeting was adjourned at 7:35 p.m.
