HomeMy WebLinkAbout1994-10-04 (HEB ISD Board Mtg) CITY OF EULESS CITY COUNCIL Attendance At HURST-EULESS-BEDFORD INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT BOARD MEETING Tuesday, October 4, 1994 The members of the Euless City Council attended a meeting of the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District Board of Directors on Tuesday, October 4, 1994, at 5:30 p.m. for the purpose of giving a presentation of a proposed Tax Increment Reinvestment program to be considered jointly by the School Board and the City Council at a later date. City Council members present included Mayor Mary Lib Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Bobby Baker, and Council Members Charlie Miller and Glenn Walker. Staff members present included City Manager Tom Hart, Assistant City Manager Joe Hennig, Director of Administrative Services and Economic Development Tom Cox, City Secretary Susan Crim, and Assistant to the City Manager Modesto Mundo. City Manager Tom Hart presented information regarding the proposed Tax Increment Reinvestment program and answered questions from the School Board. The School District expressed their concern regarding (1) state law regulation of school financing as it v.. relates to this type of program, (2) the consequences of a downturn in the economy, and (3) the impact of delinquent taxes on the program. Mr. Hart stressed the fact that the School District would not be giving up any taxes they now have, because the property being considered for this investment is undeveloped at this time. City officials concluded their participation in the School Board meeting at 6:40 p.m. Susan Cnm, City Secretary
