CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order by Mayor Mary Lib Saleh
at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2002, in the Administration Building Conference Room.
Those present included: Mayor Mary Lib Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Carl Tyson and Council
Members Leon Hogg, Bob Edwards, Charlie Miller, Glenn Porterfield and Veva Lou
Massey. Precouncil discussion was held on agenda items and other scheduled items.
COUNCIL CONSIDERATION OF SCHEDULED ITEMS - COUNCIL CHAMBERS
The Euless City Council continued their meeting in the Council Chambers at 7:00 p.m.
for the consideration of scheduled items.

Deputy City Manager Gary McKamie, City Attorney Bob McFarland, City Secretary
Susan Crim, Deputy City Secretary Becky Null, Police Chief Leonard Carmack, Director

Tina, Kelsey and Kinsey Cowley, Carroll Scott, Ellen Schroeder, Nick Wahl, Mike Utzman,
and other visitors as noted in the visitors' register.
INVOCATION
Pastor Nick Wahl, Glade Crossing Baptist Church, gave the invocation.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Girl Scout Troop #1560 led the Pledge of Allegiance.
ITEM NO. 1 PRESENTATION OF EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH FOR APRIL
Director of Public Works Randy Byers introduced Public Works Equipment Operator
�.. Tod Cowley, his wife Tina, and children Kelsey and Kinsey, and Mayor Saleh presented
him with a plaque for being selected employee of the month for April.

ITEM NO. 2 PRESENTATION OF EMPLOYEE SERVICE PINS

Fire Marshal Michael Logan introduced Firefighter/Paramedic Cliff Moore and Mayor
Saleh presented him with a 5-year service pin.
ITEM NO. 3 AWARD OF BID NO. 011-02
Council Member Miller motioned to award Bid No. 011-02 to Trooper Supply, Inc., 2900
Smith, Suite #150, Houston, Texas, with an estimated expenditure of $17,000 for police
uniforms for one year with an option for two, one-year renewals.
Council Member Hogg seconded the motion.
Ayes: Mayor Saleh, Mayor Pro Tern Tyson, Council Members Hogg, Edwards, Miller,
Porterfield, and Massey
Nays: None
Mayor Saleh declared the motion carried.
ITEM NO. 4 APPROVAL OF FIRST AND FINAL READING OF ORDINANCE NO.
1528
�.,. Council Member Hogg motioned to approve the first and final reading of Ordinance No.
1528 amending Chapter 80 "Telecommunications", Section 80-11 "Compensation to
City" (a) (1) b. increasing the monthly telecommunications line access fee for residential
from $0.80 to $0.81 and for non-residential from $2.97 to $3.01.
Council Member Massey seconded the motion.
Ayes: Mayor Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Tyson, Council Members Hogg, Edwards, Miller,
Porterfield, and Massey
Nays: None
Mayor Saleh declared the motion carried.
ITEM NO. 5 APPROVAL OF CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
Council Member Edwards motioned to approve the minutes of the Regular City Council
Meeting of March 26, 2002.
Council Member Hogg seconded the motion.
Ayes: Mayor Saleh, Mayor Pro Tern Tyson, Council Members Hogg, Edwards, Miller,
Porterfield, and Massey
Nays: None

Mayor Saleh declared the motion carried.
ITEM NO. 6 PUBLIC COMMENT
There was no public comment.
ITEM NO. 7 REPORTS
CITY MANAGER
Deputy City Manager Gary McKamie had nothing to report.
CITY ATTORNEY
City Attorney Bob McFarland had nothing to report.
STAFF REPORT
There was no staff report.
CITY COUNCIL
Council Member Edwards congratulated Public Works Equipment Operator Tod Cowley
`"' for being selected employee of the month and Firefighter/Paramedic Cliff Moore for
receiving his 5-year pin.
Council Member Hogg stated he was proud of all the employees. He stated he drove
his oldest child and her belongings to California and was glad to be at the meeting.
Mayor Pro Tern Tyson congratulated Tod Cowley and Cliff Moore. He attended the
Chick-Fil-A grand opening and stated he has heard their business is great.
Council Member Massey congratulated Tod Cowley and Cliff Moore.
Council Member Porterfield stated the city has great employees and congratulated Tod
Cowley and Cliff Moore.
Council Member Miller congratulated Tod Cowley and Cliff Moore. He stated he and Carroll
Scott participated in the Euless Trash Off on the previous Saturday.
Mayor Saleh stated she attended the Chick-Fil-A grand opening, which was fantastic
and noted the owner lives in Euless. She stated the third Citizens Fire Academy is
graduating this week. She noted that the young girl, Erica Rodriguez, honored at the
Fire Department banquet, received the HEB Council of PTAs Heart of Gold Youth
Volunteer Service Award. She noted that Director of Community Services Rick Herold
is being honored at the University of North Texas on Friday night. She announced that
Arbor Daze tickets are now available at the Raven's Grille. She announced that the city
has been awarded the designation of Tree City USA again this year.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:23 p.m.
