OF THE EULESS CITY COUNCIL
May 10, 2003
A Strategic Direction Worksession of the Euless City Council was called to order at 9:05 a.m. on
Saturday, May 10, 2003, in the meeting room of the Euless Public Library, 201 North Ector
Drive.
Those attending included:
Mayor Mary Lib Saleh
Mayor Pro Tern Carl Tyson
Council Member Leon Hogg
Council Member Bob Edwards
Council Member Charlie Miller
Council Member Veva Lou Massey
City Manager Joe Hennig
Deputy City Manager Gary McKamie
City Secretary Susan Crim
Communications and Marketing Manager Lori DeLaCruz
City Manager Joe Hennig led the discussion of the City Council's thoughts regarding the
philosophy of the direction of the City of Euless. Thoughts presented included:
➢ Basic dignity of people and diversity of population.
➢ Take care of basics.
➢ Do the right thing.
➢ Give the citizens the most for the least cost.
➢ Believe in open, accessible communication.
➢ Believe in the employees.
➢ All people are equal and should be treated with dignity and respect.
➢ People should have equal access to opportunity.
➢ Always be fiscally responsible.
➢ Open, honest communication with employees and citizens.
➢ Ethical, honest visionary leadership.
The strengths and opportunities of the City were discussed in detail. Ways in which the City
could be showcased were discussed. It was urged that continued emphasis to enhance the
image of the City throughout the Metroplex be continued. Overall goal is for the best to get
better.
The meeting was adjourned at 3:05 p.m.
