HomeMy WebLinkAbout2004-02-05 (Town Hall Mtg) TOWN HALL MEETING EULESS CITY HALL 201 NORTH ECTOR DRIVE, EULESS, TEXAS THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 5, 2004 CALL TO ORDER Police Chief Leonard Carmack called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. PANEL The panel for the Town Hall meeting included Mayor Mary Lib Saleh, Council Member Glenn Porterfield, City Manager Joe Hennig, Assistant Police Chief Bob Freeman, Assistant Fire Chief Robert Isbell, Parks and Community Services Director Ray McDonald, Director of Economic Development Bill Ridgway, Director of Planning and Development Mike Collins and Director of Public Works Ron Young. OTHER STAFF AND COUNCIL MEMBERS PRESENT Deputy City Manager Gary McKamie, Fire Chief Lee Koontz, Fire Battalion Chief Jeff Morris, Police Captain Harland Westmoreland, Police Lieutenants John Williams and Steve Eskew, Police Sergeant Gary Landers, Neighborhood Police Officer Joe Hoerth, Public Works Manager Chris Barker, Recreation Manager Suzanne Hendrickson, City Engineer Robert Barker, Code Inspector Brian McGarry and City Secretary Susan Crim. TOPICS OF DISCUSSION Trash receptacles Parking on streets in Morrisdale subdivision Traffic control regarding running stop signs West Pipeline Road construction Teenage speeders in neighborhoods Tax rate Director of Public Works Ron Young gave a presentation on road projects including North Main Street, West Pipeline Road between Raider Drive and Highway 10, Glade Road, and West Pipeline Road from Raider Drive west to the City Limits. He also reported on overlay projects scheduled in the near future and the status of new traffic signals at the intersections of Harwood Road and Aransas Drive and at Driftwood Drive at Pipeline Road. He gave an update on the water and wastewater replacement projects. Director of Economic Development Bill Ridgway gave an update on vacant buildings and land in the city that are being marketed for development. ,.. Police Sergeant Gary Landers gave an update on Homeland Security and how the City of Euless is complying. Assistant Fire Chief Robert Isbell gave an update on Fire Department activities.
