BUDGET WORKSESSION
August 6, 7 and 8 2004
Budget work sessions were held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 6-8,
2004, at the Star Brand Ranch Conference Center in Kaufman, Texas, to discuss
the proposed budget for Fiscal Year, 2004-2005.
Those attending included:

Council Member Carl Tyson
Council Member Leon Hogg
Council Member Linda Martin
Council Member Charlie Miller
Council Member Veva Lou Massey
City Manager Joe Hennig
Deputy City Manager Gary McKamie
Director of Fiscal and Administrative Services Loretta Getchell
City Secretary Susan Crim
City Engineer Robert Barker (Friday morning only)
Public Works Manager Chris Barker (Friday morning only)
The meetings were convened at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, August 6, and adjourned
at 5:10 p.m. and at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 7, and adjourned at 5:00 p.m.
and at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, August 8, and adjourned at 10:30 a.m.
The council members discussed all areas of the general operating and capital
improvements budget for Fiscal Year 2004-2005 but made no final decisions.
Announcement was made that public hearings will be held by the city council to
receive public input on the budget at the August 31, 2004 city council meeting.
The budget will be voted on at the August 31, 2004 council meeting and the tax
rate will be voted on at the September 14, 2004 city council meeting.
