JULY 26, 2017
ITEM 1 — CALL TO ORDER
A regular meeting of the Euless Animal Shelter Advisory Board was called to order by
Director of Public Works and Engineering Hal Cranor at 11:33 A.M. at the City of Euless
Public Works Facility, 1513 Westpark Way, Euless, Texas 76040.
The following members were in attendance:

ITEM 2 — REVIEW &APPROVE MEETING MINUTES FROM NOVEMBER 9, 2016
Director Cranor asked if there were any comments or questions regarding the minutes of
April 19, 2017. Scott Cepak, City of Bedford Animal Control Officer, was introduced as
the newest member of the Board. With no questions or comments, the minutes were
accepted as written.
ITEM 3 — UPDATE ON GAP
Supervisor Atkinson reported the following GAP activities: a Walk-A-Thon held on 4122
from 10am — 2pm at Trinity High School raised $21,000, HEB Reads! Event held on 5/6
did not result in any adoptions but gave good exposure to the GAP Program.
ITEM 4—SHELTER FACILITY UPDATE
Foreman Spargur reported that the dog area behind the shelter has been completed. The
water has been installed and a concrete slab has been poured near the water pump for
drinking / bathing dogs. The fencing around the area is complete and trees have been
planted. Supervisor Atkinson reported that new furniture has been purchased for the

shelter. Four (4) chairs have been added to the lobby area that are made of hard plastic,
which makes them easier to clean. Five (5) chairs have been added to the "cat room" in
the back and Facility Maintenance has re-finished the floors at the shelter. He also
reported that there was a 3rd Grade class at South Euless Elementary that raised
donations and brought those to the shelter. In addition, there was another young girl in
the City that raised money for food for her birthday and brought that donation into the
shelter.
ITEM 6 — QUARTERLY REPORT
Composite of quarterly calls for service were distributed along with case statistics per
species. Clarification for 124 calls for service under"Patrol Area"on the quarterly reported
was requested. This number does not reflect specific calls for service. These are district
patrols which include any complaints about barking dogs.
Assistant City Manager Barker explained and outlined the updated barking dog
Ordinance. The City has created a brochure that has been distributed to City of Euless
Animal Control, Police Department, and Municipal Court personnel.
Dr. Read inquired about the procedure to follow-up on any cruelty and neglect
investigations. Supervisor Atkinson stated that those would be forwarded to the Courts if
the investigation showed as a valid complaint.
ITEM 8 —QUESTIONS/ COMMENTS
Director Cranor asked for a proposed date for the November meeting. November 15th
was suggested at the April meeting and was agreed upon by all present.
ITEM 9 —ADJOURN
The meeting was adjourned at 12:11 P.M.
