JUNE 15, 2006
CALL TO ORDER
A Special Called meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order by Mayor Mary
Lib Saleh at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 15, 2006, in the Precouncil Room in Euless
City Hall, 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless, Texas. Those present included Mayor Mary Lib
Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Linda Martin, Council Members Carl Tyson, Charlie Miller, Glenn
Porterfield, and Michael Brown. Council Member Leon Hogg was not present.
Others present included City Manager Joe Hennig, Deputy City Manager Gary
McKamie, Assistant City Manager Loretta Getchell, City Secretary Susan Crim, and
Finance Administrator Vicki Rodriquez.
RECEIVED THE FISCAL YEAR 2006-2007 CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION
DISTRICT BUDGET
Mayor Saleh stated the Crime Control and Prevention District Board met earlier in the
ti,ma, day for the purpose of holding a public hearing and approving the FY2006-2007 budget.
The baseline budget includes total revenue of $1,446,243 which is derived from interest
earnings and the 3/4¢ sales tax that was approved by the citizens of Euless to assist in
crime prevention.
Baseline expenditures total $1,437,892 and consist primarily of salaries and benefits for
15 officers and an assistant police chief. The estimated ending fund balance is
projected to be $393,738, out of which a required 60-day reserve of $236,366 would be
held, leaving excess reserves of$157,372.
Council Member Porterfield motioned to receive the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 Crime
Control and Prevention District Budget.
Council Member Brown seconded the motion.
Ayes: Mayor Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Martin, Council Members Tyson, Miller, Porterfield,
and Brown
Nays: None
Mayor Saleh declared the motion carried.
