Dear Citizens,
It's the start of a
brand new year
and we have a lot
of great things
on the horizon.
First of all, please
join us for the Town Hall meeting.
It's great way to learn about
upcoming projects and programs
and a great place to ask questions
or give suggestions.
January is also a great time for
resolutions. If fitness is a resolution
of yours, there are some great
opportunities to start the new year
off on the right foot. The Euless
Family Life Center will offer a Free
Fitness Day towards the end of the
month that will give you a chance
to try out classes, find instructors
that you like and take a complete
tour of the facility.
We are also kicking off the It's Time
Texas Challenge. This is a statewide
completion that encourages more
activity, healthier eating and
community health events. Please
consider joining us in this
challenge and help us win some
money for our local schools.

Filing for a place on the May 5, 2018 City of Euless General Election ballot
begins Wednesday, January 17 and runs through Friday, February 16 at 5 p.m.

conversation! There’s no set agenda, so this is a
great opportunity to ask questions, share your
concerns, make suggestions or just get to know the
officers in your neighborhood. We hope to see you

City of Euless Privacy Policy
The City of Euless Utility Billing Office is committed
to the privacy of its customers. Customers may
control the release of account information in
accordance with Texas Utilities Code Ch. 182. For
specific information about your account, you will
need to provide us with certain personally
identifiable information.
Someone outside the City of Euless may request
customer information. Under Texas Utilities Code
Ch. 182, individuals/consumers may sign a
confidentiality form or send a written
confidentiality request. If such a request is received,
information such as customer address, telephone
number, and consumption information will not be
released except to a consumer reporting agency,
employee of a utility or another utility company,
any state or federal government employee and their
contractors or subcontractors, or to a person for
whom the customer has contractually waived
confidentiality for personal information.
Customer information may be used by a third party
collection agency contracted with the City of Euless
to collect delinquent accounts. If you would like to
obtain the confidentiality form, please visit

Christmas Tree
Recycling Event
Saturday, January 6, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

Aquatic Park Parking Lot

Don't throw away your live Christmas tree - recycle
it! And then join us for the Christmas Tree
Recycling Event on Saturday. The City is hosting a
tree mulching demonstration and giving away bags
of mulch and tree saplings to the public.
Additionally, we’re serving free hot dogs and drinks
to anyone who participates in the recycling event.
To recycle your Christmas tree, drop off your live
tree (with no decorations or lights) at the
designated area of Midway Park from December 26
to January 13. The City will turn your tree into
mulch, which it uses throughout the year to
maintain City parks and medians. Residents may
bring their own bag to fill with mulch for their
gardens or flowers. Limit one bag per person. The
Parks Department may work with residents on
additional quantities if available. For more

Adult Spelling Bee

Get your teams ready for a spell off at our Second
Annual Adult Spelling Bee! There will be prizes,
the opportunity to represent Euless in a spelling
bee with local libraries, and of course, bragging
rights! So gather 2-4 of your most trustworthy
friends and prepare to BEE the best. No registration
required.

Wanted: Teen Court
Volunteers
The H.E.B. Teen Court is looking for adult and
teen volunteers. Volunteering for Teen Court is
a fun and great way to serve your community.
Teens and adults work together to provide
defendants the opportunity to take
responsibility for their actions, while learning
about the justice system. Teen volunteers learn
public speaking skills, interviewing techniques
and administrative skills. Local attorneys and
the Teen Court Coordinator combine their time
and talents to provide all teen volunteers with
thorough training.
Teen Court is a peer program that allows
juvenile first offenders with Class C
misdemeanors an alternative in the criminal
justice system. Teen volunteers serve as the
attorneys, bailiffs and clerks, while adult
volunteers assist during court sessions as jury
monitors and judges. You are welcome to visit
any Teen Court session to observe and find out
more about our program. If interested, call the
Teen Court office at 817-952-2468.

Volunteer of the Year, so we can celebrate the
dedication and service of these exceptional
people.

outstanding volunteer service to make Euless
great! We invite Euless residents to nominate a
Volunteer, Business and Youth of the Year for
outstanding service during 2017. Please include
a 100-word explanation along with your form.

IT'S TIME TEXAS
Community Challenge
January 8 - March 4
New Year, New You! Now is a great time to start
living a healthier lifestyle and IT'S TIME TEXAS
can help you. Presented by H-E-B, this challenge
is a free, statewide competition in which Texas
communities compete to see which
communities can demonstrate the greatest
commitment to healthy living. IT'S TIME TEXAS
Community Challenge starts on January 8, 2018
and runs through March 4, 2018. Winners will
be announced on the IT'S TIME TEXAS
Facebook page.
IT'S TIME TEXAS will award five communities
with a custom trophy and a banner recognizing
their achievements, as well as a $1,200 check to
fund a healthy project at school. Plus, the
winners will receive statewide recognition and
bragging rights for the rest of the year.
There are a number of different ways to earn
points for your community. To start, you must
be a registered user at the website,
www.ItsTimeTexas.org, which will award your
community 50 points. Once registered, visit
your Community's Profile Page on the site to
submit different activities to help your
community compete for the crown.
Last year more than 23,500 Texans, representing
roughly 330 communities participated in the
Challenge. They exercised more and tracked
their workouts, ate healthier, organized group
and community health events, and encouraged
their friends, family, colleagues and fellow
community members to join them in
demonstrating their commitment to healthier
cities and a healthier state. Let's get healthy. It's
time, Euless!

The Euless Family Life Senior Center requires that all participants become a member. It’s SIMPLY FabEuless
to join. Complete a membership form, have your picture made and the ADVENTURE begins. Memberships

Whether you are a Euless resident or non-
resident, the Euless Family Life Center offers
membership plans to suit your needs. There are 3-
month and 12-month membership plans, as well
as plans that include childcare and access to the
indoor pool. All plans include the use of the
fitness center for ages 16+ (ages 12-15 may use
the fitness center when accompanied by a
designated adult guardian age 16+). For

Enjoy a free day of fitness and learn how you can
reach your fitness goals at the Euless Family Life
Center. Speak with knowledgeable instructors, try
out free class demonstrations, work out in the
weight room and tour the facility. And don't forget
to see the indoor pool and discover all the amazing
programs available to you. The fitness center will
also have refreshments and activities for children. A
photo ID is required if you would like to use the
facility free for the day. Come by and take a tour!
