Please visit your city complex on election day April 5th to vote for both the City Council and School Trustee election, and while you are here, join in the fun of the Sesquicentennial events. Samuels Mayor ELECTION NEWS: The City of Euless will hold an election on Saturday, April 5, 1986, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Euless Municipal Building, 201 North Ector Drive, Euless, Texas. The names appearing on the ballot for the City of Euless will appear as follows: CITY COUNCIL PLACE 1 Ray Ozebek Walt Smith CITY COUNCIL PLACE 3 Glenn D. Walker Bonnie O'Brien CITY COUNCIL PLACE 5 Ron Sternfels Candidates for the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District Board of Trustees are: DISTRICT TRUSTEE PLACE 3 Lennijo Blair Neal Adams DISTRICT TRUSTEE PLACE 4 Melva Hatcher Judi Faurot Jack Rucker DISTRICT TRUSTEE PLACE 5 Johnny F. Eden Joe Waller Absentee Voting will be conducted in the City Secretary's Office, from Monday, March 17 through Tuesday,April 1st, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you live in Euless you can vote for the Euless City Council at the Euless Municipal Building. If you live in Euless and are within the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District, you can vote also in the HEBISD Trustee election at the Euless Municipal Building. SPARKLE WEEKS 1986 Sparkle Weeks will begin on Monday, April 7, 1986. The City of Euless will send a crew by your house to pick up large items, tree limbs, etc., according to the scheduled time. DO NOT CALL CITY HALL. Have your items to be picked up out by 8:00 a.m. on the day we are scheduled to come by and we will pick it up. Tuesday, April 8, 1986 All residents from Westpark Way east to Wilshire shall receive pickup beginning at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 8, 1986. Wednesday, April 9, 1986 All residents from Wilshire Dr. east to South Main Street between S.H. 10 and South Pipeline Road shall receive pickup beginning at 8:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, 1986. Thursday, April 10, 1986 All residents from South Main St. east to City limits between S.H. 10 and South Pipeline shall receive pickup beginning at 8:00 a.m. Thursday, April 10, 1986. Monday, April 21, 1986 All residents between North Main Street & the east City limit from Glade Road to Mid-Cities Blvd. shall receive pickup beginning at 8:00 a.m. Monday, April 21, 1986. Tuesday, April 22, 1986 All residents between N. Main & east City limits from Mid-Cities Blvd. to Ash Lane shall receive pickup beginning at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 22, 1986. All items must be on the curb in front of the Residence no later than 8:00 a.m. the day of scheduled pickup. DO NOT CALL CITY HALL! WE WILL GO DOWN EVERY STREET ACCORDING TO SCHEDULE! EULESS O PARADE (Saturday, April 5, 10:00 a.m.) Good old-fashioned fun will be the order of the day on Saturday, April 5, in the City of Euless. "Euless On Parade-A Brave Past and A Beautiful Tomorrow" will be the theme of an all-day Sesquicentennial celebration. The City of Euless is an enthusiastic participant in the Texas Sesquicentennial and is sponsoring ''Euless On Parade" in commemoration of the part the Euless area has played in Texas history and in honor of the city's goals for the future. Beginning with the parade at 10:00 a.m. and followed by an all-day fair, ''Euless On Parade" will be packed with entertain- ment for all ages. The parade will feature a variety of amusements, including marching bands, horse-drawn wagons, and other local entries. Following the parade route from N. Main and Harwood to Ector Drive via Midway Drive will bring you to the site of the celebration, the Euless City Complex. The fair will open following the parade and the closing of events will be at 3:00 p.m. Entertainment will include live bands, dance groups, food, arts and crafts, games and family activities. The Euless Sesquicentennial Committee, local geneological societies, and the Mothers of Twins and Triplets will be assisting the City of Euless in this event, and other interested persons or organizations are invited to participate. In the event that we have a rainy day, the rain date for the celebration will be Sunday, April 6 from 1:30-5:00 p.m. See you there! The Recreation Department recognizes the efforts of the Euless Busy Bee! DID YOU KNOW: The City of Euless has entered the KEEP TEXAS BEAUTIFUL GOVERNER'S COMMUNITY ACHIEVEMENT AWARD PROGRAM. The local slogan is Beautify Euless Everyday. PURPOSE: Reduce litter in Euless and in Texas • Involve greater citizen participation • Provide stronger atmosphere for enforcement of clean-up ordinances • Clean-up as a marketing tool • Show pride in Texas, particularly during the coming 1986 Texas Sesquicentennial year.
