',yaw City Manager Gary McKamie pointed out that this year's budget will reflect our overall
revenues will be lower due to a drop in sales tax revenues. He stated that the Trinity
River Authority is advising us that we can expect another 22-cent increase in
wastewater rates, and there may be a significant increase in water rates also. Mr.
McKamie reported on several ways the staff is striving to reduce costs, and stated that
one way is for the Police Department employees to begin transferring money deposits
to the bank instead of hiring armored cars to do so.
Library Administrator Kate Lyon thanked the City Council Members for the
improvements made to the Library during the past months. She reported that down
loadable books will be available at the Library in the coming year.
Staff members presented their proposed budgets including immediate needs and long-
term requirements.
Mayor Saleh left the meeting at 7:00 p.m. and Mayor Pro Tern Martin presided until the
meeting was adjourned at 7:20 p.m.
