EULESS CITY COUNCIL
JUNE 12, 2008
CALL TO ORDER
A Special Called meeting of the Euless City Council was called to order by Mayor Mary
Lib Saleh at 5:05 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2008, in the Precouncil Room in Euless
City Hall, 201 N. Ector Drive, Euless, Texas. Those present included Mayor Mary Lib
Saleh, Mayor Pro Tern Linda Martin, Council Members Leon Hogg, Donna Mickan,
Glenn Porterfield, and Perry Bynum. Council Member Tim Stinneford was out of town.
Others present included City Manager Gary McKamie, Deputy City Manager Loretta
Getchell, City Secretary Susan Crim, Finance Director Vicki Rodriquez, Assistant
Finance Director Jackie Theriot, Police Chief Mike Brown, Assistant Police Chief
Harland Westmoreland, and UTA student Paul Pasichnyk.
RECEIVED THE FISCAL YEAR 2008-2009 CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION
DISTRICT BUDGET
v. Finance Director Vicki Rodriquez stated that the Crime Control and Prevention District
Board met earlier in the day for the purpose of holding a public hearing and approving
the FY2008-2009 budget.
The proposed budget includes total revenue of $1,807,500 which is derived from
interest earnings and the 1/4¢ sales tax that was approved by the citizens of Euless to
assist in crime prevention.
Operating expenditures total $1,805,273 and consist primarily of salaries and benefits
for 18 officers and an assistant police chief. The estimated ending fund balance is
projected to be $339,060, out of which a required 60-day reserve of $296,757 would be
held, leaving excess reserves of $42,303.
Council Member Porterfield motioned to receive the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 Crime
Control and Prevention District Budget.
Council Member Bynum seconded the motion.
Ayes: Mayor Saleh, Mayor Pro Tem Martin, Council Members Hogg, Mickan,
Porterfield, and Bynum
Nays: None
Mayor Saleh declared the motion carried.
