'�- BUDGET WORKSESSION
August 1, 2 and 3, 2008
Budget work sessions were held on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, August 1, 2 and 3,
2008, at the Star Brand Ranch Conference Center, 1182 Star Brand Drive, Post Office
Box 1077, Kaufman, Texas 75142 to discuss the proposed budget and related items
for Fiscal Year, 2008-2009.
Those attending included:

Council Member Donna Mickan
Council Member Glenn Porterfield
Council Member Perry Bynum
City Manager Gary McKamie
Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell
City Secretary Susan Crim
Director of Finance Vicki Rodriquez
Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald (Saturday only)
The meetings were convened at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 1, and adjourned at 5:25
p.m.; and at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 2, and adjourned at 5:45 p.m.; and at 8:30
a.m. on Sunday, August 3, and adjourned at 10:00 a.m.
The council members discussed all sections of the general operating and capital
improvements budget for Fiscal Year 2008-2009 but made no final decisions.
Announcement was made that public hearings will be held by the council members to
receive public input on the tax rate at a Special Called City Council meeting on August
21, 2008, and at the Regular City Council Meeting on August 26, 2008. A public
hearing on the Fiscal Year 2008-2009 budget will be held at the Regular City Council
Meeting on August 26, 2008. The budget will be voted on at the August 26, 2008
meeting, and the tax rate will be considered at the September 9, 2008, meeting.
