City of Euless
Service to Enlist Resident Volunteers (S.E.R.V.E.) is a program to encourage volun-
teering with the City of Euless. S.E.R.V.E. was founded in 1989 by two Euless resi-
dents, Mary DeWitt and Geoffrey Tait who were dedicated to increasing the number
of volunteers in the city.
The need to utilize volunteers is essential for several key reasons. First, the City of
Euless performs such a multitude of jobs that it would be cost prohibitive to hire such
expertise. Second, numerous citizens are interested in volunteering their time, skill or
experience to the community in which they live. Finally, volunteering enables citizens
to take "ownership" in their resident city. In other words, supporting the city by vir-
tue of their skills in helping the community be a better place to live.
The city has volunteer opportunities in many areas, such as library, police, parks, rec-
reation, personnel, administration, as well as other departments. The positions range
from shelving books to teaching a class in recreation. Whatever your skill or expertise
is, we should find a match for you at the City of Euless. Any time you wish to volun-
teer, the city would be most appreciative.
If you are interested in a volunteer position with the city, please contact the volunteer
coordinators,Mary DeWitt or Geoffrey Tait at 283-9456 for more information.
