HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-02-21 HEB EDF EULESS CITY COUNCIL and HURST-EULESS-BEDFORD ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT FOUNDATION Monday, February 21, 2011 6:00 p.m. Pat May Center, Bedford, Texas Members of the Euless City Council attended a joint meeting of the Hurst-Euless- Bedford Economic Development Foundation along with representatives from the City of Hurst, City of Bedford, Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District and the HEB Chamber of Commerce on Monday, February 21, 2011, at the Pat May Center in Bedford, Texas. Representatives from the City of Euless included: Mayor Mary Lib Saleh Mayor Pro Tern Linda Martin Council Member Leon Hogg and Jan Hogg Council Member Tim Stinneford Council Member Donna Mickan and Randell Mickan Council Member Perry Bynum and Lisa Bynum City Manager Gary McKamie Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell Director of Economic Development Mike Collins City Secretary Susan Crim Deputy City Secretary Kim Sutter Following dinner, the meeting was called to order at 6:15 p.m. by HEB Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Mary Martin Frazior. The invocation was given by HEB ISD Trustee Faye Beaulieu. Euless Mayor Pro Tern Linda Martin led the Pledge of Allegiance. Mary Frazior recognized the members of the HEB EDF Board of Directors for Fiscal Year 2009-2010 and for Fiscal Year 2010-2011. She reviewed the economic indicators and related statistics for the three cities and gave an update of new businesses in the three cities. Bedford Economic Development Director Bill Syblon, Hurst Economic Development Director Steve Bowden, and Euless Director of Planning and Economic Development Mike Collins each gave development updates of the activity in their respective cities during the past year. Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District Superintendent Gene Buinger reviewed the proposals to be placed on the ballot in May for a bond election in the school district.
