Mayor Saleh called the worksession to order at 8:00 a.m. at the Texas Star Conference
Center in Euless, Texas.
Those present included:

Council Member Leon Hogg
Council Member Donna Mickan
Council Member Glenn Porterfield
Council Member Perry Bynum
City Manager Gary McKamie
Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell
Director of Finance Vicki Rodriquez

Director of Planning and Development Mike Collins and Assistant Director of Planning
and Development Chris Barker joined the meeting at 11:00 a.m.
Topics of discussion included:
➢ Allied Waste and Community Waste Disposal planned rate increases effective
March 1, 2009
➢ Legislative issues including smoking ban, cell phone use in school zones, bee
keeping, wind generation, sexually oriented businesses, fence regulations,
outdoor storage buildings, animal services/rabies vaccinations, vehicles parked
in yards and across sidewalks
• Legal services
➢ Historical Preservation Committee markers
➢ City limit monument signs
➢ Traffic regulation at SH157, Mid-Cities Boulevard intersection
➢ Financial Update, end-of-fiscal year 2008 and year-to-date for fiscal year 2009
• Financial report for fiscal year 2010 including planning for debt issuances in
future
➢ Effluent water project update
