HomeMy WebLinkAbout2010-01-28 Town Hall TOWN HALL MEETING EULESS CITY HALL THURSDAY, JANUARY 28, 2010 CALL TO ORDER Assistant Police Chief Bob Freeman called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m. COUNCIL AND STAFF MEMBERS PRESENT Mayor Pro Tern Tim Stinneford and Council Members Leon Hogg, Linda Martin, Donna Mickan, and Glenn Porterfield participated in the panel along with staff department directors. Staff members present, in addition to Assistant Police Chief Bob Freeman, included City Manager Gary McKamie, Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell, City Secretary Susan Crim, Police Chief Mike Brown, Public Works Director Ron Young, Parks and Community Services Director Ray McDonald, Director of Economic Development Mike Collins, Director of Planning and Development Chris Barker, Fire Division Chief/Operations Dale Skinner, Director of Finance Vicki Rodriquez, Assistant Police Chief Harland Westmoreland, Police Lieutenants Steve Eskew, Joe Kraft, Steve Kockos, John Williams and Danny Neill, Neighborhood Police Officers James Gordon and David Parker, Police Technical Service Manager Gary Gregg, City Engineer Robert Barker, Public Works Manager J. T. Ackerman, Midway Park Recreation Center Supervisor Heidi Taylor, Information Services Administrator Dan McLain, Librarian Kate Lyon, Texas Star General Manager Glenda Hartsell-Shelton, and Fleet and Facilities Administrator Kyle McAdams. VISITORS Faye Stinneford, Dylan Ratliff, Jan Hogg, Helen Voss, Jerrie Keller, Billy Owens, Sonja Adams, Bill Brown, Charles Cinquemani, Susan Rogers, Leslie Miller, Joe Mapes, Barney Snitz, and approximately 10 other citizens. TOPICS OF DISCUSSION Deputy City Manager Loretta Getchell gave a presentation on two Capital Projects—the recently completed Redi-Mix Building and the Senior Citizen Center. Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald reported on the interim plans for programs of the Midway Recreation Center during the time it will be closed for renovations in preparation for the construction of the adjoining Senior Citizen Center. He described in detail the plans for the Senior Citizen Center. Director of Public Works and Engineering Ron Young gave a report on various infrastructure projects including the Fuller Wiser connector, the Baze Road project and the West Ash Lane project. He also gave an update on the water main project for reclaimed water, the Trinity River Authority water project, and street overlay, sidewalk, drainage and traffic signalization work scheduled in the near future. �,.
