AUTHENTIC HISTORY (in part) of the BOBO (Beaubais) FAMILY
The Bobo (Beaubais) family were French Hugenots that came over
From France and settled in Gardine County, Virginia (Exact date
uncertain) some time in the 1730s.The record of said County
shows that Spencer Bobo was the brother of Sampson Bobo and
Louis Bobo. Who later moved to the Union District of South
Carolina. They both left large families (mostly boys). Both
Sampson and Louis were Revoluntionary War soldiers and the
records of South Carolina confirm this Fact.
Orange County was divided into Culpepper County in 1849.
Records in Culpepper County show that Spencer Bobo and his wife
sold their land and leases there. Spencer Bobo sold to Ab501em
and Spencer Bobo, Jr. property in 1750 and 1763. Other records
of transactions are shown in Virginia until 1772. About this
time the family moved to Union District, South Carolina.
