The fun starts on March 2 with Seuss Much Fun, a party at the library celebrating Dr. Seuss' birthday. This is followed by my Spring Break Fitness Fair on March 12, which includes fun fitness and nutrition activities. If you are looking for other diversions to occupy your children during spring break, check out the Spring Break STEAM Camp that includes fun activities focused on Science, Technology, Engin- eering, Art and Math. Or, for only $75 your child can attend the three-day Texas Star Junior Golf Clinic. This month is also ideal for getting organized and doing your spring cleaning. To help you, we are hosting Crud Day on March 24 and AARP Tax- Aide volunteers will be on hand at the Senior Center for resident's of all ages to assist with your income tax preparation this month. For more information, please call 817-685-1492. Texas Star Junior Golf Clinic March 13 -15, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. Texas Star Golf Course 1400 Texas Star Pkwy. Texas Star Golf Course has some exciting programs this year for aspiring junior golfers. They start in March with a spring break golf mini-camp. This $75 clinic, for 7 to 14-year olds, focuses on the fundamentals of the golf game with an emphasis on full swing mechanics, short game and putting. Clubs will be provided if needed. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15 to recap the clinic. Ector Dr. We've all seen it happen. It may have even happened to you a time or two. Your neighbors are watering their lawn in the rain with their automatic sprinkler system. Don't let it happen to you! Rain and freeze sensors automatically shut off your sprinkler system under rainy or freezing conditions and are becoming "must have" components for irrigation systems. Learn how to install your very own rain/freeze sensor along with some other helpful tips in this educational presentation given by Professional Turf Products in Euless. Childcare at the EFLC If your New Year's resolution is to hit the gym, but your kids are keeping you from getting out the door, look no further than the Euless Family Life Center (EFLC)! The EFLC currently has drop- in childcare, so you can bring your little one along! "Childcare is probably the number one reason why a lot of people can come to the center," ac- cording to Recreation Specialist Sonja Howard. "A lot of parents, especially young parents, might feel held back because now they have a child and they have to work around their schedule. A place that provides childcare like the EFLC gives them more of an opportunity and the freedom to con- tinue to take care of themselves," says Sonja. Childcare attendants will keep your child occu- pied with toys, arts and crafts, and a playground, while you work out. Angie Gillis, a frequent visi- tor of the EFLC, loves to bring her son. "It isn't just a place where the T.V. is turned on all the time and the kids are glued to it. There's ac- tual interaction and activities, and the kids like it. It's a safe place," says Angie. Hours of operation for childcare are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings from 8am- 11am, and Monday-Friday evenings from 5pm- 8pm. Children must be between ages 18 months to 7 years old. Cost for childcare is $5 per child for 2 hours, and is included in gold level mem- berships. Ector Dr. As a Euless resident, you may safely dispose of hazardous waste from your home such as paint, chemicals and oil. (Please don't bring cans containing dry paint; they can be safely disposed with your regular trash pickup.) You may also bring small electrical appliances you would like to recycle such as computers, radios, VCRs, stereos, clocks and hairdryers. Space is limited. The mobile collection unit can accept liquid waste materials from approximately 125 households. If the hazardous unit reaches its capacity before you arrive, you may deliver your liquid waste materials to the Environmental Collection Center at 6400 Bridge Street in east Fort Worth.
