Midway Drive ON THE MAIN STAGE: School of Rock - 5 p.m. Big Mike's Box of Rock - 6 p.m. Graceland Ninjaz - 7 p.m. Join the fun at Arbor Daze, the ultimate family festival! There will be community entertainment, bounce houses, a Kidz Zone, tree giveaways and concessions. New this year will be a scavenger hunt and various food eating contests! An over 30-year "Tree City USA" recipient, the City of Euless is proud of its many "tree-mendous" accomplishments promoting Arbor Day. Each attendee of the festival will receive a free tree. The urban tree canopy has been dwindling for decades, and the Arbor Daze Festival has given over 150,000 trees since its inception. Most of these trees have been planted in the immediate area to replenish the local tree population. A Rock Around the Park Concert Vegas Stars Friday, April 6, 7 - 8 p.m. Texas Star Pavilion 1400 Texas Star Parkway Join us Friday night for a free concert by the outrageous band, Vegas Stars. These four Italian- proud, fist-pumping fellas are from Las Vegas - as in Las Vegas, New Jersey. These wise guys belt out dance/rock/rap/pop hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s (i.e. Super Freak, Let's Go Crazy, You Should be Dancing, Get Down Tonight, U Can't Touch This) and all the way up to today's chart-topping hits. You're guaranteed a good time with this nonstop, high-energy show complete with Vegas lights and more action than the craziest night out in Sin City. It's a hilarious dance-a-thon complete with high-flying kicks, fur and shiny sequins, tons of laughs and plenty of polyester. Concessions and drinks are available for purchase. Call 817-685- 1666 for information. Car Seat Safety Check Thursday, April 12, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Euless Super Target, 1401 W. Glade Rd. The Child Safety Seat Task Force is providing free safety inspections to ensure your child safety seat is installed correctly and securely in your car. As many as 80 percent of all child safety seat restraints are improperly installed, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. If you are unable to attend this event, you may contact the Euless Police Department for a free safety check. Many Euless Police Officers are certified in the Child Safety Seat restraint system and will provide free inspections throughout the year by appointment. HEB Teen Court Scholarship Gala Thursday, April 12, 6 - 9 p.m. Hurst Conference Center 1601 Campus Drive We invite you to show your support for Teen Court volunteers by attending the annual HEB Teen Court Scholarship Gala. In addition to awarding college scholarships to deserving teens, we will be hosting a silent auction at 6:00 p.m. that will be followed by a dinner at 7:00 p.m. Dinner tickets are $20 per person. Industrial Last fall, the City of Euless revitalized our 200th home since the inception of the CPR program. Over the years, thousands of volunteers have helped repair homes in one weekend, and now we are inviting you to help us do it again. Mobilizing community volunteers, we aim to strengthen, grow and revitalize our community one house and one family at a time. Please join our growing CPR (Community Powered Revitalization) family of volunteers and sponsors as we attempt to help more struggling families make needed repairs to their homes. Volunteers will be assigned a home after check in. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Please bring gloves, ladders, rakes, shovels and push brooms if you have them. Plant and Seed Swap Saturday, April 21, 9 - 11 a.m. Parks Greenhouse 1997-C South Pipeline Rd. You don't have to have a green thumb or even plants to attend the Plant Swap. If you are a beginning gardener, please join us and talk to some other volunteers that have been in your shoes. If you have more experience, bring some of your spare plants, cuttings and seeds to trade for some new beauties to add to your own garden. GAP Club Walk-a-Thon Saturday, April 28, 10 a.m. - noon Trinity High School Track, 500 N. Industrial Blvd. Trinity High School's Girls Awareness Program (GAP) is hosting a walk-a-thon to raise funds for the Euless Animal Shelter. Families are invited to bring their dogs on a leash for the Walk-a-Thon or walk a shelter dog during the event. Teams will have opportunities to win prizes. Low-cost microchipping and adoptions will be available during the walk. A garage sale fundraiser will take place from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. on the school mall. This dynamic group of young women work hard to find homes for the dogs and cats at the Euless Animal Shelter. In addition, they have made it their personal responsibility to love on, play with, groom, foster and raise money to pay for veterinary services.
