Parks and Leisure Services Board
February 5, 2018
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Parks and Leisure Services Board was called to order at 6:58 p.m. on
Monday, February 5, 2018 in the Council Chambers of the Euless City Hall building by Chairman
Randy Jones. Other Board Members present: John Raab, Tiffany Smith, Steve Doty, Roger Sickler,
Jason Reyes, Salman Bhojani and Mohib Nawab. Members absent: none.
Staff members present: Director of Parks and Community Services Ray McDonald, Parks Manager
Terry Boaz, Recreation Manager Frank Ocampo and Administrative Secretary Jordan Peterson.
Visitors present: Irma Reyes
INVOCATION
Roger Sickler gave the invocation.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairman Randy Jones asked if there were any additions or corrections to the minutes from the
January 8th, 2018 regular meeting. Mr. Doty made the motion to approve the minutes as
presented and was seconded by Mr. Raab. The vote was unanimous.
I. Election of Officers
Chairman Jones advised that the current Park Board Officers are: Chairman —Randy Jones,
Vice Chairman —John Raab and Secretary—Steve Doty.
The current Tree Board Officers are: Chairman —Jason Reyes and Vice Chairman — Roger
sickler.
Chairman Jones stated that each officer will be elected by nomination and then vote of the
Park Board. He opened the floor for nominations.
Roger Sickler made a motion to nominate Randy Jones for Chairman of the Park Board.
With no other nominations the vote to approve was unanimous.

Roger Sickler made a motion to nominate John Raab for Vice Chairman of the Park Board.
The motion was seconded by Steve Doty. With no other nominations the vote to approve
was unanimous.
John Raab made a motion to nominate Steve Doty for Secretary of the Park Board. With no
other nominations the vote to approve was unanimous.
Chairman Jones made a motion to nominate Jason Reyes for Chairman of Tree Board. With
no other nominations the vote to approve was unanimous.
Tiffany Smith made a motion to nominate Roger Sickler for Vice Chairman of Tree Board.
With no other nominations the vote to approve was unanimous.
The new 2018 Park Board officers are: Chairman — Randy Jones, Vice Chairman — John
Raab and Secretary—Steve Doty.
The new 2018 Tree Board officers are: Chairman —Jason Reyes and Vice Chairman — Roger
Sickler.
II. Board Member Reports

i. Chairman Jones reported on the special events:

• February 10—Daddy Daughter Dance at EFLC Senior Center 6:30—8:30 pm
• March 2—Rock Around the Park— Professor D—Texas Star Golf Course 6:30 pm
III. Business of the Tree Board
Tree Board Chairman Jason Reyes reported the following for December:
a. Total man hours for January 1-31 =815
• 501.00 Horticulture
• 83.00 Forestry
• 65.00 Greenhouse
• 132.00 Special Projects
• 34.00 Training

➢ Over 500 Christmas trees were chipped, mulch was given away at
Christmas tree recycle event.
➢ Trees have been trimmed at McCormick Park.
➢ Acorns at Pauline St. Greenhouse were completed and now growing.
➢ Park staff attended training seminars and training classes.
IV. Directors Report—Ray McDonald
• Parks project updates/completions.
• Park inspection reports.
Chairman Randy Jones thanked the staff for their report.
V. Other New Business
No new business.
VI. Input from City Council Members and Visitors
No input or comments.
ADJOURNMENT
Chairman Jones gave the benediction. There being no further business to conduct, the meeting
was adjourned at 7:40 p.m.
