Dallas/Fort Worth Airport is closer
to achieving a long-sought land trade
1 with a California developer.
Last week, the airport board
approved listing a 30.4-acre site in
Euless for sale, asking$3.9 million.The
1 property is at the northwest corner of
Texas 183 and Texas 360.This week,the
Dallas City Council unanimously
1 approved the move;the Fort Worth City
Council will consider the matter next
week
Bids of cAsh and property will be
1 accepted for 90 days, according to air-
port documents. The board could
accept a 46.74-acre site owned by the
' Bennett Realty Group of California; the
tract is valued at about $6 million. The
Bennett property,zoned for multi-fami-
ly use, is adiacent to the-airport's police
1 firing range and below the approach for
a possible future eighth runway.
"It's a piece of property that, for
1 long-term and short-term reasons, we
would like to own," said Kevin Cox,
chief operating officer for the airport.
The board also dedicated $70,000
1 for advertising the land sale and for
related costs.The board can reject any
bids.
Euless officials said a land swap
1 could benefit the city as well as the air-
port.

development to Euless.
