A wron decision
on
I live in Euless and am employed'by
Goodwill Industries,so I feel that I
have a unique perspective about Good-
will's proposed site in Euless.
Mayor Mary Lib Saleh wrote in a
' Dec.G commentary that the city had
spent several million dollars recon-
structing Main Street to enhance the
' +area and to encourage economic devel-
opment.
It's interesting that the renovation to
which the mayor referred ended at the
' intersection of.Harwood Road and
Main Street.The City Council rejected
our proposed site north of Harwood,
where there has,been little economic
' development.
Why did the esteemed leaders zone
Euless in such a way that there's very
little large commercial business north
of Harwood? Now tell me how a bright.
and beautiful new retail enterprise
would not reflect the city's best use of
' that land.
I spend my money in Grapevine and
Colleyville.Euless hasn't put any retail
establishments close enough to my res-
idence.The council members could
have put a unique store in my city that
would draw a cross section of people to
Euless.Instead,they rejected Goodwill.
' Have you been down Mid Cities
Boulevard lately?Obviously,city offi-
cials are willing to destroy wooded
areas for property taxes but are unable
' to allow a retail establishment to bring
more than$100,000 a year in tax rev-
enue.

EULESS-A Euless jury

having a four-bedroom manufac-

the zoning for his 240-acre farm '
does not allow a manufactured

Harrington has fought that
opinion for more than a year. '
"if their intent was to bank-

I am sure they are going to make

Harrington,who has been try-
