This is the tenth consecutive year that the tax rate has either been maintained or reduced. ' With a population exceeding 50,000, the City of Euless 2005-2006 general fund budget includes expenditures of$24,651,037 which is$1,026,192 or 4.3%more than the previous budget. This increase provides for three additional firefighters/paramedics that will enable the City to continue to work toward staffing a third ambulance. The addition of a third ambulance will enable the fire department to ' reduce response times and provide better coverage for emergency response. Other public safety enhancements include the addition of two dispatchers to enable the City to continue to provide enhanced emergency medical dispatching of 911 calls. Enhanced 9-1-1 allows the dispatcher to instruct the caller on life-saving medical ' techniques while the ambulance is en route. Euless has continued to see significant new development which totaled$77,632,696 during 2005 bringing the City's total taxable value to$2,282,473,521, an increase of 4.87%over the prior year. ' The 2006 Capital Improvements Program includes drainage improvements at McCor- mick Park, several street overlay, traffic signal and street lighting improvements, a bridge replacement on S. Pipeline Road, security upgrades for the water/sewer ' system, park equipment upgrades, renovation of Building B,and a new public works facility. No debt issuance is planned during the upcoming year. "The Euless staff works diligently to provide the most efficient delivery of services to residents possible. Long-term planning and a conservative approach to the budget has allowed us to ' continue the trend of not raising taxes while providing a quality service to citizens," said City Manager Joe Hennig.
