Beautify &deem`Everyday (B.E.E.)
October 21, 1991
CALL TO : The regular meeting of the "BEE" C m ittee was called to
order at 7:06pm at the Simms Senior Citizen Center by Leon Hogg, Euless
Parks and Recreation Board Chairman.

INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS AND (TUSSIS: Charlie Miller of the Euless Parks
and Recreation Board was introduced by Leon Hogg
APPIi7VAI, CNF MINUTES: Minutes of the last meeting were approved as read.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Louise Griffin reported that B.E.E. had balance of
$777.91 as of September 30, 1991. In addition, she reported that the
recycling balance was $8,979.04. The recycling money was no longer for
B.E.E. use, it was reported by Mr. Hogg.
VOLLMER HOUR RBOORD CALL: B.E.E. members turned in 14 volunteer hours for
September, 1991.
CLD BUSINESS: Discussion of recycling funds was held. Mr. Hogg said the
funds were not for use of B.E.E. at present and that once the new Board is
in place, Mr. Herold wild assist B.E.E. in a budget request which would be
forwarded to the Board and then to the City Council.
Irene Rosecrans reported that the Yard-of-the-Month pictures look good and
that she has heard it has been very successful.
Tom Kindinger said that Chevron at Harwood and 121 was the business of the
month for September. Mr. Kindinger said while he was putting up the sign,
the company that does the maintenance came, so it was perfect timing. They
were all very excited. This month winner: Courage Point Apartments. Mr.
Kindinger reported that Beth Earle with the city will put together a
certificate to give to the apartment and business winners each month.
A discussion was held about Christmas decorations. Mr. Herold reported that
all the work B.E.E. had done in the past would be erected each year at City
Hall. Mr. Hogg reminded all mfrs that B.E.E. had voted to concentrate
future efforts in beautification and clean-up, and when B.E.E. grows in
numbers new projects might again be rekindled.
Mr. Hogg challenged the B.E.E. to begin making plans for recruitment month.
Ms. Rosecrans reported she has talked to numerous people who are interested.
Mr. Hogg said it would be nice to show slides at the recruitment month
program and bring back old members to share stories of their past success.
He asked Charlie Miller to please consider working on this project.
New Business: Mr. Kindinger thought a good project would be to pick-up
trash. The B.E.E. thought that would generate good media coverage, while
still gathering support. Places were discussed including the Sinai Creek.
A sign was discussed which could be placed at the site before a beautification
effort started. That would give people a chance to get involved. Mr. Herold
said he would be glad to order a sign. Mr. Kindinger requested that the sign
be constructed so that the time, and date of a project could be incorporated
into the sign. Mr. Herold said that did not look like a problem.
Motion was made by Mr. Kindinger and seconded by Ms. Rosecrans, and passed
unanimously. ..."Make notion to have great Euless Fall Trash-Off on Saturday,
November 23, 1991 at a location to be determined next month."
Mr. Hogg said he hoped election for new officers could be handled in
February. Mr. Hogg asked everyone to continue to do their reports and tasks
until that time.
Mr. Herold said he would like the Board to consider moving meetings to the
Ruth Millican Center. He also said the building had possibilities for
clean-up and beautification.
Motion was made by Ms. Rosecrans and seconded by Mr. Kindinger, and passed
unanimously. .. ."Make motion that B.E.E. move their meetings to the Ruth
Millican Center".
Ms. Brous suggested once-a-month clean-up projects be considered to help
visibility of the organization. B.E.E. decided to bring that back up at
another meeting.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:06p.m.
