CALL TO ORDER: The regular meeting of the BEE Committee was called to
order at 7:00 p.m. at the City of Euless Greenhouse by Chairperson Dee
Heilman.

MINUTES OF THE LAST MEETING: Minutes of the last meeting were
approved as read.
TREASURER'S REPORT: Dee Heilman gave a treasurer's report with a
balance of $2,451.57 in the "BEE" regular account and $6,638.72 in the
"BEE" recycling account.
VOLUNTEER HOURS: Chairperson Dee Heilman requested that members turn
in volunteer hours to be recorded. The total volunteer hours reported
from November 1990 through March 18, 1991 are 961 1/2.
OLD BUSINESS: Rick reported that some of the charges for the "Don't
Bag It Program were charged to the BEE Committee. The "BEE" committee
had agreed at the last meeting to accept these charges.
YARD OF THE MONTH: Debra Maxwell gave a Yard of the Month report and •
said that the judging begins next month and that she had contacted
four garden shops for prizes. i
MORE OLD BUSINESS: Getting a booth at the HEB festival May 18th was
again discusc-ad and the committee agreed to have a booth fcr the BEE .
Committee.

Tom Kindinger asked the committee about the Sparkle program and Randy
Byers gave a report that at the present time there were no plans to I
restart the program. The committee seemed to feel that trash was
beginning to be dumped around the city, but they would address the
situation at a later date.
Dee Heilman gave a report on the items purchased for the BEE Committee
at Leisure Faire. Items include a magnetized ruler and wooden nickels
and balloons. Ray Overturf from Chambers Waste Systems of Texas will

order the rulers and wooden nickels which will have the BEE logo on ''1
them.
NEW BUSINESS: Glenn Overturf gave a report on recycling and requested
permission to place a bin for aluminum cans at the Leisure Faire with
money collected from the sale to be put into a fund for the Euless
boy, John Pearson, who is in need of a heart transplant.
Jimmy Beck gave a report on ZEROSCAPE landscaping using native plants
to conserve water and yet make an attractive yard for the homeowner.
Jimmy Beck will have a booth at the Leisure Faire and information on
this subject will be available.
Rick Herold gave a report on the DON'T BAG IT PROGRAM, and also said
that there was to be an experts meeting at the Recreation Center for a
special program on this subject.
Plans were mentioned for the beautification of Highway 10 and also
North Main street.
The meeting adjourned and Jimmy Beck took the group on a tour of the
GREENHOUSE. Jimmy Beck told the committee about the plants that were
grown for placing throughout the city for the beautification of
Euless.
Refreshments were furnished by Dee Heilman and were enjoyed by all.
