HomeMy WebLinkAbout2011-07-05 PLANNING AND ZONING July 5, 2011 MINUTES The regular meeting of the Planning and Zoning Commission was called to order by Chairman Richard McNeese at 6:29 p.m. for consideration of scheduled items in the Council Chambers in City Hall of the Municipal Complex. Chairman Richard McNeese stated there was a quorum of members of the Planning and Zoning Commission present. MEMBERS AND STAFF PRESENT: MEMBERS ABSENT: Chairman Richard McNeese Vice Chairman Troy Mennis Commissioner George Zahn Commissioner Monty Huffman Commissioner LuAnn Portugal Commissioner Jeremy Tompkins Commissioner David Brown Stephen Cook, Senior Planner Holly Houston, Assistant to City Secretary VISITORS: Tom Winn THE INVOCATION AND THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE: The Invocation was given by Vice Chairman Mennis and the Pledge of Allegiance was given by Commissioner Tompkins. ITEM 1 APPROVAL OF MINUTES for called meeting of June 21, 2011 Commissioner Brown made a motion to approve the minutes for called meeting of June 21, 2011 with the following correction on page 2 for the vote of Abstention: change "Nonce" to "None." Commissioner Portugal seconded the motion. The vote was as follows: Ayes: Chairman McNeese, Vice Chairman Mennis, Commissioners Zahn, Huffman, Portugal, Tompkins, and Brown Nays: None Abstention: None The motion carried (7-0-0) Planning and Zoning Commission Minutes July 5, 2011 ITEM 2 CASE #11-02-FP — CONSIDER A FINAL PLAT Consider a request for a Final Plat changing J. Havins Survey, A-685, portion of Tract 2A to Glade Parks, Block B, Lots 1 and 2. This property is located on State Highway 121, south of Loving Trail. Stephen Cook, Senior Planner, gave a brief description of the case. The applicant, Glade 121 LP, is requesting approval of a Final Plat. The property is located on 3.05 acres south of Loving Trail, west of SH 121 and is zoned PD 1916 (Planned Development 1916). The two lots created by this final plat will be retail/restaurant pad developments within the Glade Parks overall development. Access to the lots has been constructed via Loving Trail connection to the SH 121 Service Road. This final plat is before the Planning and Zoning Commission for consideration in order for the developer to subdivide the property in preparation for sale. Individual retail/restaurant developers will make site plan applications to the city. Stephen Cook stated the applicant's representative, Tom Winn, was available for any questions. There were no comments or questions among the Commission. Commissioner Zahn made a motion to approve case #11-02-FP. Commissioner Huffman seconded the motion. The vote was as follows: Ayes: Chairman McNeese, Vice Chairman Mennis, Commissioners Zahn, Huffman, Portugal, Tompkins, and Brown Nays: None Abstention: None The motion carried (7-0-0) ITEM 3 REPORTS There were no reports.
