APPROVAL TO SUBMIT APPLICATION TO THE OFFICE OF THE
GOVERNOR FOR THE 2018 URBAN AREA SECURITY INITIATIVE
GRANT PROGRAM.
WHEREAS, the City of Euless City Council finds it is in the best interest of the
citizens of the City of Euless, that the Urban Area Security Initiative Grant Program Swift
Water Boat Replacement be requested for the 2018 grant year, and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless and Tarrant County find that vulnerability to many
potential hazards is shared by residents of the City of Euless and the unincorporated
portions of Tarrant County; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless agrees that in the event of loss or misuse of the
Office of the Governor funds, the City of Euless assures that the funds will be returned to
the Office of the Governor in full; and
WHEREAS, the City of Euless designates Mayor Linda Martin as the grantee's
authorized official. The authorized official is given the power to apply for, accept, reject,
alter or terminate the grant on behalf of the applicant agency.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF EULESS, TEXAS, THAT:
SECTION 1.
The City Council approves submission of the grant application for the Urban Area
Security Initiative Swift Water Boat Replacement to the Office of the Governor.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED at a regular meeting of the Euless City Council on
May 8, 2018 by a vote of 7 ayes, o nays, and 0 abstentions.
